Guest guest
Your dad and mine could have been 'twins' (except for my dad preferring beer/wine). My dad loved to say - there are more old drunks than old doctors! But the real sad point is that my dad didn't live as happy a life, especially near the end, as he could have. He was an intelligent, witty man who replaced family/friends with booze and cigs. Another line in a movie (One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest) forever reminded me of him - " He sucked on the bottle until the bottle began sucking on him. " And my dad died from pancreas cancer, not liver failure or lung cancer - life is a joker for sure. IE is the reminder that one needs to take the bull by the tail (life) and face the situation. Guest guest
Great point - the only thing we have is now. All the more reason to spend it living and not dieting. > So, for those of us who are obsessing over the healthfulness of what we > eat (me included) and are worried about the impact of unhealthy eating, > just remember that for everyone that gets some disease because she > didn't eat enough fiber, there are others who get no disease and live > to be old despite horrible habits. Guest guest
Isn't that stuff crazy? I think everyone has or knows someone who has a relative who is like that. They also seem to have a relative who never drank, exercised regularly and was very health conscious only to turn around and either pass away at an early age or get really sick. So yeah, I think you might be right about other factors! > > I just realized something this morning. Guest guest
This topic came up for me this morning - my chiropractor brought up the topic because he wanted to (nicely?) say that he recommends that I loose weight. NO $HIT Sherlock! But rather than blow a gasket and argue with him about his diet and exercise mentality vs. my thoughts, I simply said that I am doing IE and maybe he would find it informative to read on that. And yes, I am aware and working on improving my body. Believe me I don't want to keep gritting around with the pain I've been living with these last few months - that's why I am using his services and taking up Pilates too. But I certainly don't think jumping up and doing 30+ minutes of aerobic activities every day to 'increase my metabolism' is for me either. I think it would be the ultimate joke to live an additional 2 or 3 years by spending over 3 or 4 years worth of time 'exercising'!! Phooey! Who ARE you - I thought we were all friends here?!!? Okay, I'm actually on the floor laughing about this, but I had to get in a good gibe - I AM " gym is a drug! " after all!!! Exercise a joke? Guest guest
LOL!! Gym Let's just put it this way - for ME standing in one place and waving my arms about for the sake of waving my arms about is something I'd rather laugh about than do. Of course the 'joke' is on me because I'm needing to learn Pilates for 'medical' reasons. Guess this tired and sorry little old body is just not destined for being lazy - HA! (PS, I was wondering how I could bribe you to exercise for me ?!? LMAO!!) > I think it > > would be the ultimate joke to live an additional 2 or 3 years by > > spending over 3 or 4 years worth of time 'exercising'!! Phooey! > > > > Krazy Katcha > > > Katcha!!?!?!! Guest guest
> (PS, I was wondering how I could bribe you to exercise for > me ?!? LMAO!!) Hey, no problem!! Let's see - I'll do 30 extra minutes in the gym FOR YOU for... hmm... what would be an appropriate bribe amount.... I got it! 30 minutes extra under the name of KATCHA for 1 warm brownie. Sounds like a plan!
Guest guest
I thought about that, but figured you didn't want a stale 3 day old brownie if I mailed one to you - giggles Besides I bet you big buck$ that it would get 'confiscated' by some hungry mail inspector . . . . But if you have the fast food attachment working on your email inbox I'll email you one - LMAO!!! > > > > Its a deal!
