I've been worried about you with all the rain and flooding and storms down there. We're getting the rain here but nothing too bad. You guys are getting hit hard.

I hope you're planning to stop here on your way to or from Atlanta..... right?

Weather System Has Arrived!

It was no more than 10 minutes ago that I was writing about a storm system that was supposed to arrive to night "after midnight" according to the weatherman that I am watching as we speak. Little does he know but we started having blowing rain while he was broadcasting. It was blowing so much that I had to go close the storm shutters because the porch was already getting soaked. There's nothing out there right now that it would really hurt because we just removed everything except the tables and chairs to clean the floor but I don't feel like sweeping up excess water if I can help it.

I'm just hoping that it's not too rough tomorrow because I have an appt. that I can't break and a couple of other errands I need to do. I leave on Saturday for Atlanta to go babysit my grandchildren and then Jim and I will be traveling for about a month (4 major stops for 5-7 days at each location) so I need to really get my packing done.

Maybe on the way back but I'm flying this time going to Atlanta. Jim will be with me when we drive back through coming home towards the end of Sept. I'll keep you updated on what we're doing.

My schedule at present is Dacula ('s house) from Sept. 16-29.

Sept. 30 - October 6 - we will be in Banner Elk, NC high atop the Appalachian Mountains.

Sept. 7 - 11 - Rochester Hills, MI (just N of Detroit where we lived for 20 years)

Sept. 12 - 19 - Shenandoah Valley of VA. We may make it to burg for a tour for maybe a day or two.

Sept. 20 - 27- at my Mom's in NC

Sept. 27 - 29 - back at 's house for McKaila's 7th birthday.

Sept. 30 - Back home.

This may change by a day or two at the end. The time in Banner Elk and in the Shenandoah Valley should be quiet and peaceful. We are staying at time-share condos and our touring will be very limited. Lots of rest, reading, and relaxation.

We've had some minor flooding up here, too. Not the river, but the small creeks and streams.

It's sunny today for our drive, though.

If you do burg, be sure to take the drive to " Grove Plantation (I think that's the name of it) if you haven't done that before, it's a beautiful short, slow drive through the wilderness and then a tour of the house and down below there is an archeological dig that's interesting.
