Guest guest
I don't think that there is brown sugar Splenda yet Dee - Sugar Twin has one, but it's pretty foul. Kirstie

Guest guest
I have used the surgar twin brown sugar and I like it. I made sloppy joes that call for brown sugar and when I use the sugar twin I or my husband cannot tell the difference. Laverne
Guest guest
I'll second that! The Brown Sugar Twin is just about the worst tasting sugar substitute that I have ever tried! Had an incredibly awful, bitter after-taste. Almost as bad as stevia, in my book. My hey, that's just my opinion :-) -Marlena in DC ----Original Message Follows---- Reply-To: Atkins_Support_List To: <Atkins_Support_List > Subject: Re: Brown Sugar Date: Fri, 16 Feb 2001 08:22:26 -0400 I don't think that there is brown sugar Splenda yet Dee - Sugar Twin has one, but it's pretty foul. Guest guest
It's what I use in my praline pecans, too, and they taste great. Guest guest
do you think it makes a difference if the food you're making it with is a HOT food? when I've tried it, I was intending to sprinkle it on top of something but dipped my finger in it and tasted it and thought it was horrid. perhaps I should have given it more of the old college try ;-) but i was wondering if maybe that is why i didn't like it at all, because i used it " alone " and not as an ingredient in something hot. Just a thought. -Marlena ----Original Message Follows---- Reply-To: Atkins_Support_List To: Atkins_Support_List Subject: Re: Brown Sugar Date: Fri, 16 Feb 2001 12:18:10 -0600 It's what I use in my praline pecans, too, and they taste great. Guest guest
I've used it in my carrot/flaxseed muffin recipe and quite enjoyed it. I used some sprinkled on top of peanut butter cookies before I baked them and almost couldn't eat the cookies because it tasted so foul to me. I think it may depend on when it's mixed with stuff. probably one of those YMMV things for sure! Kirstie
Guest guest
Marlena, that is possible. When I make my sloppy joes there are other spices so maybe that is why it tastes ok. Laverne
Guest guest
This could be true, maybe alone it's awful but gives the desired affect in food. I use it for the pecans, so it's mixed with cream and butter. I've also put a teaspoon in a shake and it was ok there, too, maybe it just needs other flavors to be ok.
