Guest guest
It's *possible* that the doc is shortening hydrochlorthiazide to " thiazide. " It does come in a 12.5 mg capsule. I've heard them do that on my practice reports. I knew because elsewhere in the dictation, they'd actually say hydrochlorthiazide. Just a thought! ----- Original Message ----- > s/l Diozide 12.5 mg. Guest guest
>>> Could be simvastatin for patient's hypercholesterolemia, maybe...? Zocor is its brand name so maybe doc combined the Z with the generic name? Rennie, That could be it!!! Thank you so much. Doc was really struggling with this one too. I was just about to submit the report with blank/flag, so now at least I have something to offer him ... I'll make a note to alert him. Fortunately for *me* this doc doesn't mind little notations at all. In fact, he'd much prefer that (he says) than chancing an error. Thanks Rennie, Shel
Guest guest
The patient is a 77-year-old white male with preexisting atrial fib intermittent kept normal on Betapace 80 b.i.d. He has also been anticoagulated and is on Coumadin. His calcium channel blocker is Adalat and he takes 30 mg extended release. Today he is here to recheck his feet and legs. He has had a petechial-type rash which I thought might go away when he stopped using *lasticose* but it has not, and he got a blister going without socks so I have put him back in to socks.
