Guest guest
What a wonderfully special gift for someone to have given you! That made my eyes water!! Wow! And it's good for you to ahve this time to yourself to work at something you love and to meditate and reflect a bit on your own. Not to mention how much it helps the guys and kids to deal with each other for a while. They all come home with a greater respect for Mom. hehe An increased appetite is a good thing when you've been through what you have lately! Indulge! And have a great time on your "vacation." I'm jealous. Enjoy your remicade too. I know it sounds weird but I can remember how much I looked forward to it!! Hugs Christy Hi to all Dear friends, Bob and the kids finally got off around 11 to their adventure in central Oregon. They are going to explore the Cascade Lake area and camp each night. He said we will be back if we get rained on or we get too tired of being without a shower or Thursday--whichever comes first. I am glad for them to have this time together and wish I could have joined them but all I would have done is slow them down and my risk for falling is just too great. I bought a few flowers for the front yesterday (not realizing how hard it would be to plant them when you can't get down on your knees), so Bob bailed me out. I had trimmed back most of the hanging baskets trying to get a second bloom out of the petunias. I am going to feed them all tonight. I don't know if I ever told you that after we went to Oklahoma for the funeral, we came home to a clean house and our front porch beautifully decorated in various plants along with a park bench and chair that just make it perfect for sitting out enjoying summer evenings. Some of the plants have really taken off. We aren't really quite sure who gave us such a sweet gift although I know it was someone(s)from our church or my Bible study. Daisies have overtaken the flowerbeds so I am going to trim them back and pull them up. They are through blooming.I love it when they bloom but they are sure ugly when they are through. They are so hearty; will just take over everywhere if you let them. I am glad to have some time this week to devote to my flowers. It is really therapy for me. As long as I don't have to get down on my knees. I am going to get a few things for the back to try to get it presentable for Sara's birthday party. The nurse called me again from the infectious disease doctor and said that the final culture on the bursa fluid from my knee is negative. Yea!!! They said go ahead and finish the dose for tomorrow and then d/c the port access. (The nurse showed me how to do this) They said that I could get my remicade this week also, so perhaps I can lower the pred dose to 5mg--I think this is what he said I will need to be on for awhile. I see the rheumy next week.I sure have had an increased appetite this past week. hope everyone has a pain free week.hugs and love, melindaPlease visit our website at:http://ACES_Autoimmune.tripod.com
Guest guest
Melinda, great news from the infectious disease doc!! That was so nice of whomever to clean your house and decorate the porch. You are blessed to have them. x0x0x0 Shirleyu -- Hi to all Dear friends, Bob and the kids finally got off around 11 to their adventure in central Oregon. Guest guest
How nice to come home to that! Sounds like things are looking up for you and yours, I'm so glad. I have a little garden seat on wheels that I use so I don't have to get on my knees and am elevated a little so it isn't as hard to get up. The seat holds the tools, gloves, etc. I can't remember where I got it, but it was a catalog for gardening supplies. Guest guest
My son gave me one like that for Mother's Day a couple of years ago and it was wonderful. I would have liked to also had one of the garden wagons but never got around to getting one. The biggest benefit of the garden seat on wheels was having all my little trowels, hand rakes, pruners, etc with me so I didn't have to run back and forth to the garage so many times. I miss doing a little bit of gardening. I never got around to adding a bunch of plants to our patio. Maybe I will tackle that when the weather cools a bit. Guest guest
Yeah---it's definitely too hot and humid (when it isn't raining) now.
