Guest guest
Hi, My two year old was just diagnosed with Chiari. It was an " incidental " finding as he had a seizure with an ear infection and this was discovered. We were able to get into see Dr. Ellenbogen in Seattle and went ahead and scheduled surgery for his next available apppointment which was May 25th. In the meantime we flew from the Seattle area to Iowa to see Dr. Menezes who confirmed the need for surgery and saw no reason for us to wait. My son has had chronic vomiting since he was 7 months old. Had the GI workup-including biopsies of his entire GI system and then a subsequent allergy workup which revealed a cat allergy. The vomiting reduced in frequency but is still occurring 1-4 times a week. I also believe that he is having headaches as at times he will hold his head. Clumsiness? In a 2 year old?? I am very interested as I have just found your website about folks with similiar experiences. Any thoughts on Ellenbogen and Children's? As you can imagine we are quiet upset and very anxious but know that we have to get the surgery done. In his case the sooner the better because of the longstanding nutritional issue and poor weight gain. Please share your thoughts. I appreciate your time.
