Guest guest
I posted something here on this topic a while, ago, but with the recent discussion of acidophilus and other digestion issues, it may be worth another reminder. Wheat insensitivity (adult celiac disease) is much more common than most people realize, and for some of us getting off wheat makes a dramatic difference. In my case, ten years ago, after a year of confusing diagnostic work, it changed my life. Not easy, but quite doable, and no loss of quality of life. Many celiacs have problems with wheat, oats, barley and rye, but corn and rice flours and products are fine. Those with any Irish ancestry are particularly at risk. This is probably not of general interest, and is not known to affect AF (but it probably does, everything else seems to affect AF.....), so if anyone wants to pursue this with me off-forum, I'm at kageyd@... If you think it may be an issue for you, start by eliminating all wheat, oats, barley and rye for just a week, you'll know very quickly. (Yes, that means pasta, bread, oatmeal, most cereals, even soy sauce (though you can buy wheat-free soy sauce). There ARE good substitutes.
