Good Onc. Visit!

OK, it must be all those prayers yall sent up for me, but my onc. visit went

well today when I least expected it to!

I went in with my list of questions and before I even got around to the 2nd

one, he was agreeing to increase the Xeloda and not only that, but to add

Celebrex!

I know I had asked him about each of these in previous visits and he had

declined them, so needless to say I was thrilled that he had a change of heart

today for whatever reason (my dh says it's probably based on doc's moods but

since I find that entirely too frightening a theory, I prefer to think it was

prayer related, LOL)

So...I will be taking 3000 mg. of Xeloda for this next cycle then will

proceed to 3500 mg. the one after that. He wants me to start with the Celebrex

at

200 mg. and see how that goes. I had a CEA drawn today and will get the

results by the end of the week.

We will evaluate further based on how things go - CEA, side effects if any,

etc.

I am pleased.

Thanks yall!

Nice one, Terry!

I hope the Xeloda+Celebrex goes well - sounds like it should be pretty

minimal on side-effects.

All the best,

Darren

Thanks! I hope so...and if not and I have to evaluate other options,

hopefully I'll get my financial ducks more in a row by then which will also

increase

my quality of life, LOL

Hi Terry:

I am happy to hear your appointment went so well and your oncologist

was listening.

Perhaps it was prayer, perhaps it mood, but I'm more inclined to

believe it was your preparation and determination to get to the

bottom of things. Could I be right? Sometimes approaching those

doctors with confidence and the belief in yourself as the director of

your own destiny makes all the difference.

Here's to you!

Cheers,

Laurie

That could be...maybe it was the combination. As in " D. all of the above " ,

LOL!

Thanks for the cheers,
