Your correct , A radioactive material is very precise in it's decay rate.

The half life interval is how long it takes for the radiation level to drop

by one half. After the second half life interval the radiation level is 1/4 the

initial level. The next, it is down to 1/8 etc, etc. I don't think medecine

is as precise but is similar.
