Guest guest
, You may be referring to the French tests. It is a urine test and tests to see if the gluten and casein proteins are improperly broken down and remain as larger proteins that act as opioids. I think it is: Laboratoire Philippe Auguste 119 Avenue Philippe Auguste 75011 Paris France Tel: 0033143721398 Kulp wrote: > > > > What are these tests called and how are they done ? > > > > > > > - > > >
Guest guest
Great Plains Labs in Kansas can also do a test on urine that measures whether there are proteins from gluten or casein; if there are, it means the patient has a " leaky gut " or isn't digesting the proteins. However, some people get a false negative and really are sensitive to gluten or casein, so our DAN recommended that we just do a gf / cf trial without getting the test results; can eliminate to see if there are improvements; or eliminate for a while and do a challenge test with a little gluten or casein to see if it has a negative effect. This Great Plains test is different from a test for celiac disease, however. I'm not sure how to get that testing done.
Guest guest
My understanding is most people on the spectrum do not have celiac disease, but almost all have some sort of gluten intolerance whether it shows up on a test or not. There are a lot of false positives. A friend took her ADHD son into our DAN and he tested negative on all the tests for gluten, but they did remove it and his improvement has been considerable. At least in part, it has to do with the genetic mutations and the person being deficient in digestive enzymes. GFCF trials can take a long time, particularly for gluten. I think with casein you should know within a month. I also think sometimes the problems don't manifest themselves too obviously. I just removed casein from my diet in January. I had gone 46 years without knowing that I was sensitive to dairy. I had removed it before, but not with as dramatic of results as this time around. I think really the way to look at it is to try and nourish your body and brain as well as you can and in most cases it would not include gluten and casein or corn or any number of things. When people make comments about how it is too bad my kids are so limited, I tell them that I see it as lifelong learning about healthy eating. They will not be hearing at 40 when their blood pressure and cholesterol rises that they have to change their diet. They will have the benefit of healthy choices and education from early on. Really, they are not deprived because they don't eat Oreos and Doritos. I think everyone should limit their diets. Why do people feed children packaged foods? I have seen some kids who won't eat anything if it doesn't come out of a box or from Mcs. Guest guest
That's the one my doctor wanted to do,but I haven't been able to spare the $135.00 for it.I was thinking more of a blood test where you eat something with gluten, and wit tp see if there is a reaction, and then draw blood. > > > > What are these tests called and how are they done ? > > > > > > > - > > >
