Guest guest
November 15, 2004:Some New South Beach Diet™ Clarifications For our latest round of updates to the diet, you'll see that some of the changes are really clarifications of existing guidelines. We hope this helps make the plan even easier to follow. Artificial SweetenersBecause it's not FDA-approved, we've removed stevia from the Foods to Enjoy and Avoid list (all Phases). We've also added Whey Low as an artificial sweetener to enjoy (all Phases). Meat Alternatives/SoyWe've updated the guidelines on soy products. The old version used to recommend products with 3 grams of fat or less per 2-3 ounce serving. You may now enjoy products with 6 grams of fat per 2-3 ounce serving. MeatsPrime rib, jerky, and pork rinds have been added to the Foods to Avoid list (all Phases). Low-fat turkey sausage has been added to the Foods to Enjoy list (all Phases). Please note that low-fat turkey sausage is acceptable for occasional use—roughly once a week. Milk/DairyWe've updated the daily serving of milk/dairy (including yogurt) from 2 cups to 2-3 cups (Phases 2 and 3). VegetablesFennel has been added to the Phase 1 Foods to Enjoy list. Guest guest
(Ohhhh please let me comment Mummy) I am sitting here trying not to launch into views on FDA which I am sure would become a major debate. My tongue hurts from biting it so much. When you've lived in Europe or Australia or even New Zealand (from where I was born) you understand that there is more freedom in health care and nutrition in other countries. Anyway .. time for a large glass of water, me thinks. > Well, I don't believe the FDA is always working for OUR advantage. > > Kris > > > Re: Re: Stevia not allowed? > > November 15, 2004: > Some New South Beach DietT Clarifications > For our latest round of updates to the diet, you'll see that some of the changes are really clarifications of existing guidelines.
