Madison is getting worse. I have to tweak her supplements. I ran out of

constant fussing, she seems miserable. Absolutely miserable. <

Send me your snail mail address again and I'll send you the tub of TMG I

have just sitting on my shelf!

She could very well take after her forthright mother, but like all autistic

kids she takes it to the extreme....you do, I have to admit, have a healthy

respect for personal space. :-)

Terrific! I am so glad for you (and her!)...so exciting. That will

make a huge difference in her frustration level...and could help

Madison as well, as Syd may be able to interpret for her?

Madison has more sensory issues than Sydney, doesn't she? Honestly

Grace, I would talk to the OT about giving her more sensory

support...I say that because it seems to me that she is telling you

that she is overwhelmed...maybe some things that are more geared

toward sensory processing than integration per se...sort of a step

down from SI...that's where we work, and it is much more successful

for certain kids...

FACE " to play with you.

> I mean, she practically kisses everyone she interacts with>>

She may have difficulty telling where " her " space ends and another's

space begins...that is sensory, too...

Madison will get better, Grace, but it's going to be a different path

for her, I would say. I would be careful to be sure that her world

is as calm and predictable as possible, find some good, organizing

activities via the OT that are specific to her needs, and stay with

the supplementations...they make a difference for these kids. Help

her feel safe...that is honestly the most important thing, IMHO, in

moving these kids out of this.

There is a site www.atready.com that talks about kids with sensory

processing dysfunction...maybe worth a look?

Grace,

Yay for Sydney!!! I'm sorry it makes Madison's differences more painful for

you though. Even with my boys, there's such a stark difference........

Grace!

YEAH!!! Syd is TALKING!!! WOO HOO!!!

(was there ever any doubt??? naaaaaaaaah)

Now, Madison:

Madison WILL get there too...obviously its going to take more time. But you

KNOW that.

I hear ya on the " comfort zone " . Let me tell you how " uncute " it is at 7!

Did you order the TMG yet?

I can send you some overnight if you want.....(I'll even send it back in

your bottle) :-D

Let me know.

Penny

Good news and Bad news....

Which to tell first?

OK - the good.

Sydney is now officially TALKING.

Well, okay, so she is not speaking real words, but she will imitate all

syllables for you and enjoys it. She's going to talk, and probably soon.

And yeah, I did sob already. In fact, I called everyone and everyone in my

family sobbed along with me after hearing her few syllable imitations. I've

succeeded in getting her to say " appah " which is daddy, in Korean..... and

Shaun almost crashed the car in NY when he heard that.

Bad news? <There always has to be some, you know...>

Madison is getting worse. I have to tweak her supplements. I ran out of

TMG and just decided to see what happens. The headbanging is coming back,

constant fussing, she seems miserable. Absolutely miserable. And the stark

difference between her and Sydney is becoming painful. I have to reorder

some TMG... The SNTp5p seems to help her become so interactive, and she

still is - - but she is also miserable a whole lot more without the TMG.

It's so sad to see. Also, I've got to teach this kid about respecting a

comfort zone. Talk about a child who gets " IN YOUR FACE " to play with you.

I mean, she practically kisses everyone she interacts with, and while that

is cute from a tiny 4 year old, that can't be too cute from a 10 year old,

huh... Some on this list would claim she is confrontational because she

takes after her mother, but I am definitely not in people's 1 ft comfort

zone..... or am I?

Man you guys keep talking about this TMG and I want to try it so bad but I

don't want to spend the money to find out that it does not work on him.

I also am afraid of it interfering with his meds that he takes for his

eplispy.

Does any one know if it interfers with other drugs?

Wow!!!!!! That is great news about Sydney!! I am so

excited for you and I hope she keeps going with her

progress. As far as Madison, I have said it before

and will say it again, she is soooo much like Ebony.

I hope you get the TMG going again and that helps her.
