Guest guest
I had my four month Post op appointment with Dr. Batzdorf today over the phone. He is very pleased with my progress and what he saw in the scans. The Cerebellum is returning to its normal shape now that it is decompressed and there is now room in front and back for CSF flow. The cerebellar tonsils are no longer herniated and have shrunk up inside the Foramen Magnum. I reported that I have still not had a single headache and that all of the other symptoms have disappeared. the one exception is that my eyesight is worse but he advised me to wait until about 12 months post op to see anyone about it, apparently the eyes are usually the last thing to improve. He lifted all my restrictions and told me to go back to " normal life " It wasn't that long ago that I thought I would never have a " normal life " again. For anyone struggling with the decision to have surgery I am always willing to discuss my experience. I know that everyone's experience is different and surgery is difficult but the short term discomfort has paid great dividends in my life. I actually have a life again...
