Guest guest
I liked ny Cash, but I expected his death any time since he's been so sick. But I must admit that the Ritter thing floored me! It reminds us all how fragile life is. Truly a sad day. Kathy Sad Day ny Cash and Ritter both died today. Their families are in my Prayers. Guest guest
Ritter was a total shock....He collasped on the set....They said he had a torn aorta, and that it could be from high blood pressure as one of the causes.....Never knew he had it..... ------------------------------------------------------------------ [NASH Group Website]http://www.geocities.com/liver_nash/ Subscribe: NASH-Non-Alcoholic-Steatohepatitis-subscribe Unsubscribe: NASH-Non-Alcoholic-Steatohepatitis-unsubscribe List owner: NASH-Non-Alcoholic-Steatohepatitis-owner Sad Day ny Cash and Ritter both died today. Guest guest
Yep, those dissecting aorta's can be a quick death if not discovered early. Sometimes it's just hereditary, too. Guest guest
Hi Pat, Try Guiding Eyes for the Blind in YorktonHeights, New York. Talk to them about the specialized program if you pass your heart tests. They will deal with things if you need to walk slower and not push as hard and as fast as everyone else because of your heart but are still able to walk the minimum 4 blocks. If I could of done that I could have gotten another guide dog. Hope that helps. \ Ruth From: blind-diabetics [mailto:blind-diabetics ] On Behalf Of LaFrance-Wolf Sent: Wednesday, February 25, 2009 11:29 AM To: blind-diabetics Subject: RE: sad day Yes, eventually I will " get another arm " . I have to get an okay from the cardiologist first. I go for a nuclear stress test in 2 weeks and see him 2 weeks after that. So we will see how long it takes. Re: sad day So sorry to hear of your loss Pat! That must be like losing your left arm!! Those little guys become such a large part of your life! I sure hope that you can find some comfort! Will you be getting another arm? Hugs! sad day I had to have my guide dog put down this afternoon. She was full of tumors and had stopped eating. I'll have to get my exercise now with a cane-and that is not nearly as fast as walking with a dog.
Guest guest
Hi, My last 5 dogs have been from GEB. They also have a blamed good home training program and I would suggest you look into that type of thing as the work is much less strenuous. I am also told that Pilot does an excellent job with those who are no longer trying out for the speed record. I am waiting for home training from GEB and expect it will take about a year to get a new dog. Guest guest
Pat, Guide Dogs of America and Guide Dogs of the Desert both now have excellent programs with good trainers. This was not always true of Guide Dogs of the Desert but the head of the training program is excellent. I have contemplated going to Guide dogs Of The Desert. Guest guest
Hi, I went to Guide Dogs of the Desert in 1991 and had an excellent dog from there. He was a golden retriever named Sailor. I retired him in 2000 because he had back problems and he just needed a rest. Guide Dogs of the Desert was an excellent school and I would like to go there again myself.
