Guest guest
Well I've not posted in some time, but a strange problem has occurred with the protigy meters, the ones with voice. I've had 2 of them and my readings have a 75 percent difference. For example my readings this afternoon with the protigy was 71 and with the voicemate accucheck it was 164. I've spent about 45 minutes with tech support for the protigy, and we did everything to make it work for me, but it won't. My fiance helped me set the code correctly to match the strips on the bottle, and still my reading was very low around 80. So what I've decided to do is to just send the protigy back, and just deal with the voicemate accucheck. The batteries for the meter its self are getting expensive, but since that seems to be more reliable for me, that's the way I'll just have to go. Any suggestions as to how I can solve this problem would be helpful in case I ever decide to try another one. My A and C levels for the last 3 months were 5.5 and my doctor said that was excellent. Thought I'd pick your brains and see what might be the problem with this protigy. But by the time I receive a response, the UPS man will have already picked up the package. Take care and thanks. and Lynn

Guest guest
Did ;you use test solution on the Prodigy? If you use the test solution, it re-calibrates it. that has worked me in the past when it is giving me crazey results! Guest guest
I did and even those readings weren't correct. So the nearest I got was 230. And so out of frustration, I just sent it back. Even the tech support, couldn't figure out why it wouldn't work for me. Guest guest
Initially, I noticed that the prodigy meter does not give accurate bs results in the low range. It seems to give fairly reliable results in the normal range and higher. Just today I got a reading of 35 on the meter before supper, and I knew it was wrong, since I was able to walk, and I usually get a low sugar reaction most every time I have one. So five minutes later I did another bs measurement and the reading was 77, which is quite different from a reading of 35. In general this Prodigy meter gives me readings consistently higher than my old OneTouchUltra meter. With the Prodigy the readings are usually between 5-10 points higher even in the normal range. Guest guest
If you don't get enough blood on the Prodigy it willnot give an accurate reading -and in fact may say " out of range " . Guest guest
Hi Just out of curiosity, are you sure it is the Prodegy meter that is giving you incorrect readings and not the Accu-Chek? Guest guest
Hi , I'm certainly no expert here but if your A1C is running that low perhaps the problem is with the AccuCheck. It seams to me that it would be best to have what ever meter you're using checked against lab results. Guest guest
My A 1 C is 5.5, and my doctor's satisfied with the readings my accucheck is giving. I seriously doubt she would be satisfied with the prodigy's readings. And I even had my sugar checked with another accucheck, one that displayed the readings on the screen, and they were the same as my voicemate accucheck. In my opinion the prodigy isn't a reliable product for me. and Lynn Prodigy Meter, Well I've not posted in some time, but a strange problem has occurred with the prodigy meters, the ones with voice.
