I've posted a few replies in an attempt to try and do some catching up

with what has been going on while I was off for a delightful 'R & R'

trip. Now I would like to 'check in' with ya'll to 'report' back on

how IE played into my eating while I was away from home.

Well, I have to say I didn't 'try' as hard as I thought I might be

'better served to do', but you know what - I didn't really care to

'restrict' myself so DIDN'T!! Hubby & I went on a paddlewheeler cruise

and the food was FABULOUS at meals and always 'there' in the

snack/cafe area on board too. I didn't fight one urge to eat/taste and

amazingly I can say that I didn't 'binge' at all really. The nice

pants I took for the last (Capitan's) dinner were tight by the time I

wore them, but no way was I going to pass up the lobster that night.

YES I did eat past full and when I wasn't hungry either. Its nearly

impossible not to when most of the day's 'activities' include

DELICIOUS food that I would never eat at home. Well, maybe the ice

cream is at home ;-), but the menus were almost without exception hard

to chose BETWEEN items to order. Yum and double yum.

I haven't had more than the briefest of 'bad girl!' thoughts and

really am refusing to beat myself up for choosing to eat as I did.

Besides, with all the laundry I have to do plus housework to catch up

with, I figure I will 'return' to about the same 'level' I was when I

left in a week or two (3 or 4? - who cares?!? ;-) The real IMPORTANT

lesson that I learned is that I am NOT as good at honoring my hunger

as I would LIKE to be, but I'm realizing that and am pleased to be

noticing so I can now focus on that if I am finding it to be IMPORTANT

to me.

as Elmer Fudd would say - Thatttt'sss aaalllll forrr noowww!!

Yay! You're back!

I'm so glad you had a good time, and it sounds like you were in

perfect sync with IE. You ate what you wanted, enjoyed it, and you're

letting your body naturally take care of itself.

Sounds to me exactly what a " normal " eater would do!

Welcome home!

Good for you! I'm sure that freedom and positive attitude doubled

the enjoyment of your holiday. I hope we all reach that stage soon!

Great to have you back, Dame K (or should that be Duchess? I always

figure a lady on a grand old paddleboat should have an impressive

title.)

How sweet of you Sigi! Duchess would be good for the paddlewheeler in

that a sister ship (and one we were scheduled to go on) is named the

Empress of the North (for Russia's past in Canada/US northwest). Yet I

must say that I just am not aristocrat type material - good old

peasant stock all the way ...... right down to the 'stocky body' too

:) :) :)

ehugs, Katcha
