Guest guest
Hi All, Was just reflecting over the blessing that it's been to become an intuitive eater, and I thought I'd make a list of the ways I'm different since deciding to re-learn to eat intuitively. Make a list yourself if you want - I'd love to see it 1.) I buy fewer vegetables and fruits 2.) I eat more donuts, hot chocolate, ice cream, and cookies as much as i want to 3.) I eat less candy (found out I am satisfied with one " mini " about once or twice a month?!) 4.) I go number two a lot less (probably 1-3 times per week...tmi?? ) 5.) I order whatever I want at restaurants (last night I had the bacon cheddar burger, fries, and strawberry lemonade) 6.) I eat whatever I want and I don't worry about gaining weight because my body tells me exactly when to stop (really, it's to the point where I know that if I take one more bite it would push me into the overfull zone, so I stop...never thought that would actually happen) 7.) I eat way smaller portions of almost everything 8.)I eat my favorite parts of the meal first (I used to eat my crust of my sandwich first, and i hate crust, so now i leave it behind - that makes so much more sense to me) 9.) My weight is stable, if anything I have become one of those people I once had no sympathy for; the kind who could stand to gain a few pounds, but it's hard because they don't have the desire to eat more than they are hungry for. 10.) I don't read nutrition labels, and if the label can be torn off, I tear it off 11.) I leave or try to shift the conversation if people start talking about calories, dieting, or exercising to lose weight 12.) I think about food a lot less 13.) I have tons of leftovers after I go to restaurants or order pizza 14.) I refuse to buy anything " diet " - only regular cream cheese, salad, dressing, yogurt, milk, and syrup for me, please 15.) People tell me I'm lucky because I can eat whatever I want and I don't have to watch what I eat - I say, yep, I just have as much as I'm hungry for of whatever I want. 16.) I don't exercise. Maybe I'll start again some day, but I need to know that I can trust my body to do its thing and I don't need to worry about burning off excess because...I didn't eat too much in the first place! 17.) I buy my favorite foods and keep my house stocked with them. Yep, I've got white chocolate pretzels, sugar cookies, hot chocolate, Ben and Jerry's Oatmeal Cookie Chunk, hot fudge sauce, caramel sauce, a full candy jar,...and I'm not scared of any of them! 18.) I don't buy women's magazines anymore because I can't take the " diet tips " 19.) I've replaced diet books with quality literature 20.) I don't weigh myself. I haven't weighed in over two years. All I know is that I'm rather slim, and I don't need to know anymore details. Thanks for whoever read this list. Becoming an intuitive eater makes you more comfortable with yourself and trusting of yourself. It makes you more aware of yourself. It's worth it
