Guest guest
Kim, Welcome to the group. I am glad you found us. I wanted to respond to your last question about having lose 50 pounds. I have lost almost 60 pounds doing IE. I started my IE journey in November of 2006 and I have lost and kept off almost 60 pounds. It can be done and you don't have to eat all the crappy food believe me. I eat what I have always eaten just been more mindful of being hungry and stopping when full. If you have any other questions for me, please feel free to ask. :-) And again, Welcome. Michele --- khatie888 wrote: > Hi, > I am new to the group. I have tried many other diets > and programs. Guest guest
Thanks. It has been well worth the time it has taken to take it off. I know this is the right thing to be doing. I am no means perfect at this and I have days where I just want to throw in the towel and do the whole starvation thing and all veggies and no fun stuff but then I remember what it was like when I would do that and I decided this is so much better. Guest guest
Sharon, This is really why I hate telling how I am doing weight wise because I end up making people feel bad. You have to realize, too, I have an extreme amount of weight to lose. I am very overweight and have a lot more to lose as well. I did not have to legalize food because I didn't keep anything out...I just knew that if I ate the piece of pie I wanted then I couldn't eat anything else. We are all at different steps in our journey and maybe your body needed to put on the weight rather than take it off. There was a time when I hated to tell how much I weighed because I was extremely shamed by the number but I am proud to say I used to weigh 385 pounds and I now weigh 330 pounds. That number did not define me. And this new number doesn't either. I feel better and I think that is the biggest achievement of this process. I am not sure at what weight you started this IE journey but maybe you were underweight and this is a way for your body to tell you this is where you need to be. I feel like I am babbling but I hope you continue to work on your IE journey. Guest guest
Michele, oh I am so sorry I should have realised how you would feel before I posted that.  I had to legalise a lot of foods and I have suffered with anorexia and bulimia in the past so maybe my journey is just going to take a bit longer. I was 178lb when I started and I have just gone over the 200 lb mark. Michele, I am really happy for you and really excited to read about any IE success stories. I know I will end up a success story too – it might just take a bit longer is all J Thank you for your response Sharon From: IntuitiveEating_Support [mailto:IntuitiveEating_Support ] On Behalf Of Michele Hagenlock Sent: Thursday, 6 December 2007 2:36 PM To: IntuitiveEating_Support Subject: RE: New/Introduction Sharon, This is really why I hate telling how I am doing weight wise because I end up making people feel bad. Guest guest
To Michele and Others, Thank you all for your support. I have had set backs as well but I read somewhere that we always have another opportunity to start over. That best describes me. Guest guest
Sharon, I hope I didn't make you feel bad....You could not have known I would feel like this. I just know in the past my commmenting on this has caused some anxiety for some members and I don't want to do that again. I does sound like your journey is a bit different. I am not a success story.....I am a work in progress. :-) Good luck with your journey and any time you need a bit of encouragement...please let me know. I am here. Guest guest
Hi Michele,I always flag and keep messages I find particularly inspiring and this one gets a flag for sure! This note really encapsulates what I think is the best thing about IE: it makes us deal with both our minds and bodies.
