Guest guest
Hi Bindi, I am so glad to hear you took the plunge and did the testing. You have interesting results...different from mine, but still indicative of an area of trouble for you. Did you look at the box to see what stage of adrenal fatigue you were in? When I talked to Dr. , he said that you want a high morning cortisol, so if yours is depressed when you get up, you might want to try some sort of cortisol support early on, but then you'd have to slow it down by noon. Hmmm, sounds difficult! Phosphorylated Serine is what helps to reduce that high cortisol, so you might want to look at getting some of that to take about an hour before you hit that high level. I'll be interested to hear what your doctor has to say. Who are you going to talk to? I still have to write Dr. ....I have not taken the time to write out my questions for him. Sounds like you need testosterone too! I hope that you feel tons better after you get it sorted out. I know I certainly do! I am so thankful for those women on the Stop the Thyroid Madness site for forging ahead with their experiences regardless of what the doctors were saying. I think they are right on with their approach! I upped my thyroid dosage to a level my doctor would freak out about. But I feel so much better! My palpitations stopped today, and I have tons of energy. I have to believe it's the cortisone cream, the armour, and the 1/4 tsp salt in water that is working! Patty > > Hi All, > Thought I'd pass along my test reuslts for those of you trying to puzzle out how to approach your healing and thinking about having these tests done. I did the hormone panel offered by Diagnos-Techs offered through Canary Club. > > My CORTISOL tests were the most revealing: My morning levels were depressed, noon levels elevated, and afternoon levels and midnight levels were normal. According to the brief evaluation, this is suggestive of " marginal HPA peformance " and " morning cortisol augmentation or 11 Beta HSD inhibitors, as in licorice, worth considering. Noon value is elevated indicating a stress response or rebound effect often associated with glucose counter regulation process. " Interesting. Kind of fits with how I feel-- worse in the morning. > > As far as the other tests, DHA, thyroid, estradiol and progesterone were all normal, but TESTOSTERONE was low. Hmm. > > I'm going to cough up the cash for an appointment with the Canary Club doc and see what he recommends. But I find it all interesting and somewhat encouraging, and have to thank Patty for sleuthing out this direction. Perhaps if many of us show these same sorts of results, it will be easier to offer advice to women who are recovering. > > Yours, > Bindi >
Guest guest
Hi Bindi, I just visited my Naturopath this week and she's going to retest my Thyroid, because last year when she tested me my T4 was 3.09, and she said the guidelines have changed and anything over 3.03 is considered high. She's also going to test my Adrenals, and since my sister has Multiple Myeloma (even though the risk isn't high that it runs in families) she's going to test for MGUS. She's going to retest for Candida as well. There were a few other things she was going to check, but she said if my Thyroid is still high she'd like to put me on a small dose of Armour Thyroid and see if that helps. I also told her that I've been taking Xanax since my explant and want to go off of it, but when I try the brain fog comes back. She gave me information on something called Gaba which I'm going to try, and that supposedly is a good alternative to Xanax. I told her about the Ionic Foot bath and she said that her patients with autism have improved after using that, and she also recommended the Far Infrared Sauna, which I already knew about from this site and plan to get once I'm working again. For anyone here who suffers from any chronic viral issues (including Chronic Fatigue), she also gave me information on Lauricidin (http://lauricidin.com/). Speaking of the job front, I've gone through two rounds of interviews for the same position and next week I'll meet with them for a third time, so I know I'm in the running but time will tell. If that doesn't work out, I am planning on starting school on June 26th. Guest guest
Sis . . . I'm thrilled you've found a good doctor too! Let's pray your tests go well and that you continue to heal - and that you end up getting your best job ever! Hugs, Rogene
Guest guest
Patty, Thanks so much for your insight. Though I've always wondered about my adrenals (cortisol was the only blood test I had that ever came out wacky), it was you who inspired me to go further, and I'm glad I did. I'm not sure how to read the box on the right, but my range falls in box 5. It surprised me that my testosterone level is low-- I'm curious to find out how it relates to the cortisol. I'm planning to see Dr. , whose office is up the road from me. I've spoken to him briefly by phone and email, and he has been very helpful. I'll keep you posted! Guest guest
Sis, Sounds like you are forging ahead! That's great about the job prospects-- I send you good luck wishes. I'm curious what your cortisol levels are. If you can, I think it's important to test throughout the day, not just once or twice during the day, because the various levels have a relationship with each other that points to the problem. I'm starting to understand this. Bindi
Guest guest
Hi Bindi, Thanks so much!! One way or another, I'll be busy in a few weeks - either working or schooling. If I do get the job I'll take web- based classes or night classes in the fall. With only 25 credits to go towards the degree, I really feel motivated to get it done. The naturopath did mention that it involved testing throughout the day, but first we're going to start with the Thyroid testing and various other tests that she ordered. We're going to do the testing in stages since not everything is covered by insurance. I'll make sure to share what the results are when I get them. Sis > > Sis, > Sounds like you are forging ahead! Guest guest
Thanks, Rogene! The job looks quite promising, so I've got my fingers crossed. If I don't get it, then that just means something better is waiting around the corner (I hope I don't sound too Pollyanna-ish - but it works for me).
