Diva,

thanks for your note! fiber-con....here i thought fiber was only to clean

ya out (in other words....to make you go)...maybe a purchase along these

lines might be a start to take care of this on-going problem....i think its

gonna be a looooong night!

<< Sherry I agree with Robin. Do you have a problem when you make your own

salads at home?? >>

Laverne,

Whether i have a salad here at home or no matter where i have one....i have

this very problem....its becoming more and more a problem with anything i

eat, namely meats and salads!

A question though, why so soon after i eat (15 minutes-half hour after i

eat)? I'd think food would need longer to get thru? Like i said

earlier....my DH has said to me since this problem started (years ago)...it

can't be what you've just eaten, it needs longer than that to get thru your

system! I don't know (nor does he)....just wondering! Will certainly talk

to the dr. about it when i go again!

thanks to you and everyone else : )

Not saying that you have crohn's but you might want to

discuss this with your doctor. You might have an

irritable bowel disease. Since this is something that

has been going on for a few years.

From my stand point this would NOT be considered

" normal " . I think a Doctor would be best suited to

help you. >>

thanks , can i ask you, what are some of the other symptoms of crohn's

disease? i'm gonna compile a list from what i've gotten off the list here

and take it to the dr. with me and go from there...this way, when i go to

the dr. i can look like i've delved into some possible causes of the

symptoms!

again, thanks...

thanks for all your help , i appreciate your emails regarding this! i'm

in awe over the response to this subject and i thank everyone from the bottom

of my heart for their help!

Sherry; who's compiling a list to take to the dr. to get to the bottom of

this! i guess why it seemed to bother me more today, is that i paid to see a

movie and missed quite a bit of it! :(

Well, gall bladder problems can cause that - as can the absence of a gall bladder. Also - and I realize this isn't happening only after a salad bar - there are preservatives sprayed on the greens on a salad bar and in bagged salad greens - that give alot of people diahrrea. I spelled that wrong.

I don't know about anyone else here, but this is what a support group is

about.

I don't have an answer to your question, it has never happened to me.

However, I must ask - are you on any diet pills? At least one type (I don't

pemember what it is called) has a real problem with any fats, taking it

along with being on Atkins can be a real problem.

Anyway, I hope someone else can give you a better answer than I did.

Sherry I agree with Robin. Do you have a problem when you make your own

salads at home?? Maybe it's the spray. My mom and sister have the same

problem when there go out to eat. Hope your feeling better.

Sherry:

I would suggest seeing your Dr. There are so many reasons this can happen.

My best " guess " and it is a guess because I'm not a medical professional, is

that it could be a common item in the foods you've eaten, such as a

preservative or seasoning.

My sister has Crohn's disease and has episodes of

stomach crampy & frequent trips to the bathroom.

She finds that she has to eat a low fat diet to help

her. I was telling her some of the things I eat and

she said that she would not be able to get out of the

bathroom if she ate them.

eating (my DH insists its too soon after a meal for

eat....heck even eating at all

is really becoming a pain (no pun intended). I've had

a long time (a few years), but it seems with this WOE

its becoming more

bothersome!

My sis with Crohn's symptoms are WORSENED by fiber.

for IBS the fiber can decrease the pressure within the

colon. This of course would be of major relief if this

is what is causing your symptoms.

PS: My sis IM'd the above statement to me. SHe is the

Sometimes if you are diabetic you pancreas (which is messed up anyway) doesn't

make the proper enzymes for digestion. My mother has this problem. A lot of

her food just goes straight through her. Comes out a chewed up version of what

went in.

It sure does! You'd better get that checked out and FAST! My mother almost

died from an attack like this 3 years ago. And she was always rushing to

the potty too.

I would suggest a visit to a Gastroenterologist (GI). ESPECIALLY if you ever

have any blood, but even without, a visit can only confirm what's wrong or

not wrong with you.

I have Colitis, which, I guess, is a " sister disease " to Crohn's. Mine's

very mild and is under control with meds. =) I find that I feel so much

better when I don't eat starchy high carb foods. I also find that a lot of

raw veggies (ie, salads) can irritate it, but I love my salad, so i suffer,

LOL.

Get yourself to a GI.
