Cardamom is a pungent aromatic spice. The green seed pods of the plant are dried and the seeds inside the pod are used in Indian and Asian cuisine either whole or in a ground form. Ground cardamom is a primary ingredient of curry powder. In the Middle East, cardamom is used to flavour coffee or tea.

Cardamom can also be spelled cardamon or cardomom and in India is popularly known as elaichi.Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com.

You know Patty, I believe another big bad thing the med field has done to people is the prilosec and nexium treatments they give everyone..........

this STOPS the natural processes from happening........and really screws you up.

Also, The saliva is the first of the digestive processes, chewing slowly and thuroughly, all the way to a liquid, helps your system immensly as well.

Another way they suppress functions and cause other problems in our systems so they have more drugs to make and sell us.........

Those darn drug companies and the doctors that advertise and are the salespeople for them........Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL.com.

just another marketing ploy......as is the cholestrol hype they give everyone to get them on statins......

in other countries, the best cholestrol is between 200-300 ! ! and they have less strokes too ! !

A big side effect that statins do is muscle pain, the other is, it screws up your endocrin system, as cholestrol is necessary for your hormones ! ! !

Stunting your cholestrol with drugs screws up your hormones.......lowering your cholestrol naturally or finding the cause, screws up nothing....

drug companies make tons of money on statins, and endocrin meds ! !

Crap they put in our foods cause alsheimers, and all the aluminum we use to cook with, drinks and foods come in, and in our deodrants and that list goes on too ! !

Dede, Thanks...I absolutely LOVE Cardamom! When I was in college, I had some Arabic friends and they would make me this most wonderful, delicious coffee with cardamom in it. It was divine! Then I learned how to make Arabic foods...to this day I still make a delicious dish I learned all those years ago called Machbous--it uses cardamom pods along with other spices to flavor the rice and the chicken. It is my husband's favorite dish! This makes me want to have some Arabic coffee again....WAH! I cannot have coffee! Patty DGRAHAMA@... wrote: Cardamom.....interesting ! I agree Dede, as usual the drug companies treat only symptoms and not the root cause. This country is under a spell with these drugs companies, and I can only wonder if it is going to get worse or get better. Some people are getting smarter, but the drug companies are not going to give up any ground without a huge fight. We're in for war in this country if people finally wake up! Now drug companies are claiming that cholestrol drugs reduce incidence of Alzheimers. . . I wonder if that's a publicity trick . . . or if they really have some science! I suspect it's a marketing ploy! Rogene

Hi Patty- I sent this earlier but the text didn't show...not sure why.

Anyway, since you like Arabic food, you might be interested in the

cookbook " Eat Well Feel Well " by Kendall Conrad. It's based on the

Specific Carbohydrate Diet which is geared especially for those with

intestinal disorders. She herself loves Middle Eastern Food and has

incorporated some of that into her recipes. Examples are Moroccan

ground lamb patties, Moroccan cauliflower, Moroccan chicken stew and

other Lebanese dishes.

Her daughter was hospitalized at age 3 due to parasites and systemic

yeast. Nothing seemed to help until she tried the SCD Diet (developed

by Elaine Gottschall) and was cured. Kendall then came up with these

delicious and unique recipes...some of them very gourmet but also a lot

of quick healthy snacks. She also has a section Just for Kid Foods. My

kids love almond, macademia nut or pecan nut flour waffles and muffins.

They're much healthier, and more filling than typical wheat/white flour

waffles and great for those with celiac. - PH
