Guest guest
Hi girls, I guess most of you don't even know me, since I have been silent for long time and I see that there are many new voices in the group. I joined the group about a year ago and I am fascinated and so happy to see that members of 'my generation' such as Corinna and are ready to have their babies and Gwen ready to conceive. Congratulations to all of you!!! By the way, what happened to Amy A from Chicago, who was also Dr. Valle's patient? if I remember well, she was also pregnant. A short update on my news. As some of you may remember, my doctor suspected that I may have Ashermans after an almost lethal D & C that he performed to me because of retained placenta in April 2000. A year ago, I had an attempted HSG which did not go through because of closed cervix. After my cervix was dilated, the dye again had apparently nowhere to go, a fact that was interpreted as 'uterine ablation.' Because of breastfeeding, I was recommended not to attempt any treatment until I wean. Well, a year later still neither have I had any treatment, nor have I weaned breastfeeding. Paradoxically however, since three months ago, I started having back my periods. It started with very low flow, but month by month it seems to get better. In fact, the last month, it lasted three full days. Unfortunately, however when I had my lining measured just before this last period, it was found to be only 4mm, which is still too thin. Well, that's my news. On one hand, I am glad that unexpectedly I got my period, and on the other hand, I know that I still know nothing about my condition. What is your take of it? How come that a year after uterine ablation I have a period? Is my uterus self-healing or was the diagnosis of uterine ablation wrong? Is it possible that scar tissue or adhesions that may have been blocking the uterus just went away on their own when estrogen levels got back to normal and the lining started revitalizing? Best wishes to all, Jilly
