PS - you might get a giggle out of thyroid and other results too:

TSH 0.04 mIU/L (0.5 - 4.0)

FT4 9 pmol/L (10 - 25)

FT3 3.5 pmol/L (3.1 - 5.4 but range used to go to 6. something)

endo comment: you're getting way too much T3 and it's pushing your T4

down too low, you need to reduce thyroid meds and cortisol...

DHEAs 2.2 umol/l (1.0 - 8.5)

Testosterone 1.2 nmol/L (0.2 - 2.0)

comment from endo: Testosterone way too high, must take anti androgen

medication for your hirsutism (I have none)

SHBG 31 nmol/L (25 - 90)

Free Androgen Index 3.9% (1.8 - 8)

Hi Cat,

Yeah, those are some pretty good comments, lol! Wasn't there a place

on STTM where people used to post stupid doctor remarks?

God, I hope you're okay. That must've been terrifying to go into

convulsions!! And yet the endo wants you off HC? Is she trying to kill

you?

I'm sure Val will give you some great advice to help you out here.

Hi Kathleen and thankyou :)

I'm fine now, thanks to carrying my own HC.. taught by Val :)

just back from local GP

who was horrified with her comments and interpretations..

I went in and said to him. " now, are you ready for a laugh? looks

like you've had a long day... "

He said a normal cortisol baseline he expected would be around 400

nmol/L, after stim + 30mins up by at least 50% then dropping back to

around the 400 mark by the end of the hour.

he said I was " completely hypothyroid... " well we know that but I

must admit to feeling completely spun around by the endo comments,

thankfully have nice funny smart grounded GP to bounce off

afterwards. :)

The guys who did the testing were great and really supported me

during the testing, and the convulsions only lasted for a few minutes

at their strongest, dropping back to normal adrenal type shaking with

waves of emotional stuff during the rest of the hour, they kept me

focussed and gave me oxygen at the worst part and monitored me with

bp and hr monitors, they had great humour and compassion and I was

able to stay focussed on them and the outcome so not so dramatic

really.

Thanks so much for your kind comments, I really appreciate them,

needless to say, GP is looking for other endo now, and, I have the

results to take with me.

:)

Obviously these tests prove one thing you really needed to know. You r

Endo is an idiot! You should run your labs by who is over

at realthyroidhelp.com I am sure he could give you an accurate

interpretation of the Stim test where I have not seen enough resulkts

from them to really form an opinion. Your thyroid labs are showing low

cortisol still however.

Hi Val, and thankyou!

are you feeling better by the way?

I will run them by ASAP, I read his sticky and the pattern is

similar to what he describes as common in secondary, so I would really

value his input on that. I'm seeking hypopit diagnosis so this is only

a baby step on the way.

I can't believe she said I was to STOP hydrocortisone completely, then

she relented to " weaning down " (from 20mg per day incidentally, which

may not even be quite enough), and that I was to stop thyroid

replacement based on those labs.

Consider her gone, doc and I are to reconvene to plan on interviewing

the next possible endo next thursday.

Thankyou so much :) hope you got a giggle from her comments - I did

after the initial shock, I just kept telling myself " she's an endo,

it's to be expected " over and over and over...

:)

PS, I should have mentioned those thyroid labs were done on the same

bloods as the baseline cortisol for the stim test, so no cortisol

when the thyroid labs were drawn as had gone without for the stim, 2

grains/ day armour for a week prior and no armour on the day before.
