, If this patient has had some kind of hardware placed due to a fracture,

I can see where the doc may be saying that there is a fusion between the bone

and the plate, screw or whatever which is made of metal, thus an osteometallic

fusion. But that's just trying to use some logic and see what I can come up

with. I have never heard that phrase before. Sorry, Margaret
