Hi there! The second one is probably 2/6 mitral murmur, per the MPI. Still

thinking about your first question. Hope this helps a little (if ya get

it...lol)! :)

proper form

Need some help please. Doc says 2 to 2 to 3 systolic ejection murmur. How

do I type the numbers? 2 to 2-3?

Also he says 2 over 6 mitro murmur. Is that 2/6 mitro murmur?

Thanks. :) Angie

Angie, I have never heard of 2 to 2 to 3. I have heard of 2-3/6 or 2 to 3,

maybe he was just stuttering. The second would be 2/6 mitral murmur. Margaret

Let me clarify. The 2/6 is correct. I think he was thinking out loud with

the 2 to 2-3, but I would type it like this. Hope you get this. This place

is running slow today. Must be the very high 90 degree weather here in Ohio

DeeDee, I have not had this dilemma, as I work for a hospital and the docs have

just accepted that we are doing it the correct way. However, I believe Jan has

addressed this many times with her acronym WSTPMTR (whoever signs the paycheck,

makes the rules). So, if your docs will not accept the change from Roman

numerals, I would continue using the II/VI as before. Margaret

I haven't seen any posts that address this part Angie,

so I will say it...my doctors require this to be in

roman numerals still ~ II/VI systolic murmur ~ I know

that this has just changed so that all numbers are to

be the same and not roman, but the docs have not

changed with the times. How do the rest of you approach

this type of dilemma?

I just follow the AAMT BOS, which says roman numerals are not acceptable. If

the doc does not like it, he will let the office know, and they will let me

know, and I will change it. I always follow AAMT BOS unless a particular doctor

or office wants me to do otherwise.
