Guest guest
Hi all, This week we have been busy getting tests done Phil had a CT scan done Thurs.9/18 and a barium enema scope done Tues. 9/23. After the scope he wolfed down 5 big slices of French toast with mounds of butter and maple syrup. I don't know where he's putting it but it is great to see him EAT! This is like the 5th or 6th week he has felt great and had NO SYMPTOMS of this disease. We have indeed been blessed by this, as we know others have truly suffered even early on. Round 2 dose 4 of chemo (5FU, Leucovrin, Oxilaplatin) is Wednesday 9/24. He is 6 weeks on and 2 off. We plan a trip to see Narice's family in Massachusetts in mid October. We are looking forward to visiting Sturbridge while there and seeing our 8 nieces and nephews 7 of whom are under 6. We are planning a little fall dress up party for them as a pre-Halloween fest. It is also comforting to know Dana Farber is there should we need medical care. I want to thank the church's participating in fund raisers. Words are not enough to express our gratitude for all you've done or are doing for us from prayers to research and support to fund raising rides dinners and more. Friends near and as far away as Australia helping and supporting us. Some of whom we have never met. It goes to prove that it really is a Small World and that life is short and we should always strive to help one another. As always we thank you for everything you do for us and pray God's richest blessings upon you and yours, Narice and Phil May flipper@... Guest guest
Hi Narice: Yipee that for the most part, Phil is doing extremely well and from all accounts, I would say he most certainly is. Keep it up Phil...and you to Narice...for your backbone and support. You are fighting as much as he is. I know what you mean on trying to not focus on long-term plans...the cloud of cc hangs over me and probably everybody on this board when we do so. I too try real hard to stay in the present and not focus much beyond tomorrow because I tend to get myself into real emotional trouble when I do. But just like Phil, Bert continues to remain extremely optimistic and is always planning ahead...good for him...now maybe some of his optimism for the long term future will rub off on me. Take care. Guest guest
Lately I have had to do some planning for a Youth Confrence the boys will attend in August. My youngest can not attend so we are planning seperate trips. Phil as Pastor will be chaperone if all is well at that point. Trying to think ahead really gets me choked up. But the deposit is due soon so we need to talk about it. But things are going well now and that's what's important. Thanks for the prayers and pep talk. Guest guest
I tend to run with the possitive too. If I try to stay focused on today I do o.k. . If I can get some good counseling and perhaps a change in my anti-depressant I think I will better cope. At least the best I can. Thank you for the prayers and support. Hugs to you and your Mom.
