Guest guest
Turbinate - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Sounds like your turbinates are swollen from an allergy reaction. Are there also allergies in the outside air that are bothering you right now? An antibiotic ointment wont help an allergy. You need to reduce the swelling of the turbinates. My daughter used to use a decongestant to help with hers...I am so sorry you are feeling so punky ! Hugs ~ Dede See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. I am quite hesistate to try new supplements, the ones I have tried have done nothing but make me worse. Thanks Cherie Suggest you see an ENT for consultation if this continues. Guest guest
Has anyone tried using a plain saline nasal rinse? Works great to remove stuff in the nasal passages...works well. What I do is to buy a cheap saline rinse at the pharmacy, AND EMPTY THE BOTTLE. They put in preservatives and other stuff in there that is icky. Then you use clean water(tap if you have clear well water, or else use something without any bad stuff in it)and non-iodized salt to refill the bottle. You will know when the mixture is correct when it tastes like your own tears on your tongue. You refill the bottle by squeezing the air out and putting it in the salt water mixture and it fills itself. To rinse your sinuses(and I do it a lot...I am allergic to mold, and have horses...if I smell mold in the hay or around the barn, I will get a huge migraine if I don't rinse my sinuses out promptly!!!), you put the bottle tip up in your nostril, and squeeze a mist into your sinuses a couple of times until you feel some in there. Then you move your head around to really rinse all areas...turn your head upside down, move it from side to side, then blow your nose. Repeat until you feel pretty clean. This is great therapy and not used nearly enough for health. Kate cannst42 wrote: > > Rogene, > > Lamisil is by perscription only. No way my doctor will give this to > me without a diagnosis. Guest guest
Dede, This swelling started right after I started taking caprylic acid. It just grew bigger from there. I seemed to have quite the reaction to the caprylic acid. At this point, I won't be taking anything until next month when the implants come out. Only 36 days to explant!!! Guest guest
Kate, I may actually be able to do this... I'm going to try. I have a bad post nasal drip problem. I have tried sinus rinses but they required a lot of salt water up your nose and allowing it to then " flow " out your mouth. Yuk. Anyway, I always seemed to drown myself when doing this. I know I was probably doing it wrong. Your solution sounds a little easier though. > > > > > > Cherie, > > > > > > I'd suggest using Lamisil ointment, rather than an antibiotic > > ointment. . . Guest guest
Kate, This sounds like something I could do too! . . . Can't stand water in my nose! . . . but spraying would probably work - if I needed it. I went through years of sinus problems while I had my implants. That's all behind me! Thank God. Guest guest
Hi Care, I'm really sorry you're not feeling well. I know you're trying hard to make the appropriate adjustments to your diet and daily regime and it's never any fun when your body doesn't respond the way you want it to. I'll let Bee respond to your specific questions about supplements but I just wanted to offer pop in and let you know you're being heard. Is it possible for you to call a friend or two and maybe talk to someone about how you're feeling? Or just get together with a friend and maybe go for a walk in the sunshine? Just something to lift your spirits and take you out of your head and it's struggles. You haven't lost of year of hard work. Please don't worry about that. Natural healing is an up and down process and it takes time. Do be gentle with yourself when you're feeling this way, maybe take a soothing bath with some Epsom salts or do some of the other suggested treatments listed in this article about depression on Bee's website: http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/treat6.php Jackie (group moderator) > > <snip> > I have done some adjusting to my fat intake as I think that maybe it was too low to convert my body from being insulin resistant to burning fat for energy. I did all the calculations for protein, Carbs and fat and my fats were on the low end for a 5'5 " . My carbs are way under the allowed amount. My protein is a little above but I can't reduce it because of my blood sugar. > > My body is not ready to drop any snacks. I have two that are small egg drinks. I'm very very strict with this diet. Did I now lose the year of hard work? Will it take another 4 months for the conversion of fat for energy? I'm eating well over 180g of fat. > > Any advice? Guest guest
Jackie, this was so kind of you . Thank you! My children lifted my spirits and we went out in the sunshine and played. God is good and knows what we need. I'm sure it is toxins just piling up from the candida balancing out. It is okay if you have the egg drink as snacks, and if your protein is higher too. > > I have made changes since last posting and that was increasing my fat intake. I'm eating well over 180g of fat. +++You need to increase your fat intake slowly, but increasing it did not cause you to gain weight, get depressed or make your hernia worse. However, they can cause more healing to occur so if you've had any of those issues in the past your body would be retracing them. > > Any advice? Guest guest
Bee, %%%Thank you for your response. I did not increase my fat slowly. Before I started the increase it was still in the the ratio range. I have bumped it up now because it appears I'm still insulin resistant. Cut back to the amount of fat you were taking before you increased it, and slowly increase it by a teaspoon or so every 5 days or more. ***Your symptoms do not indicate you are insulin resistant. > > > +++How much weight did you gain? > > %%% Since the changes I've gained about 6 pounds. ***That's not very much weight to gain and it doesn't mean you are insulin resistant either.
