My Endo had said some get congestive heart failure but it reverses. Would I know if I have problems? thanks Kim

Guest guest
Hi Kim, Could be an irregular heartbeat which could be caused by both hyper or hypo or something unrelated. You probably should mention it to your doc next time you go in just to be safe.
Guest guest
Hi Kim, If you had congestive heart failure, you'd have considerable ankle swelling and pitting, where you press the skin and the indentation stays. Your doc probably checks your heart routinely at every visit and would notice any problems, but it wouldn't hurt to mention the irregular heartbeat you mentioned in your other post. Guest guest
Kim, One thing hyper can cause with the heart is enlargement. That is what they were concerned with me about. Mine hadn't enlarged at the time I was in congestive heart failure. Guest guest
My heart has been starting to " flip flop " noriceably the past couple of weeks. I've been meaning to tell the doctors, but am a little hesitant in case they tell me I " m crazy. I also have the racing heart, but this is different, it feels like my heart is wildly flopping over near the surface. Has anyone else felt that? Guest guest
Hi - Yes! I do too. And it doesn't matter whether I'm hyper or hypo. For me now, it tends to happen before my morning dose of Armour and 1-2 hours before my afternoon dose. Since Armour has T3 in it and it is used up pretty quickly causing lots of fluctuations, I think 's on the ball, at least in my circumstance. I did have the same thing happen when I was hyper and when I was hypo and on T4 alone. Just not as often. Another interesting thing, after Graves' I've had a heart murmer (last 15 years). I didn't have a heart murmer before Graves'. Take care, > My heart has been starting to " flip flop " noriceably the past couple of > weeks. Guest guest
and : Are you guys doing anything about it, or is it just something we live with? I don't know whether it is dangerous to have a floppy heart! At 04:13 PM 05/30/2001 -0700, you wrote: >Hi - > >I did have the same thing happen when I was hyper and when I was hypo and on >T4 alone. Guest guest
, I've been assured that the irregularities I've experienced aren't dangerous--that's not to say that *any* heart abnormality might unexpectedly become ddangerous, just as someone with a heart that's never given them trouble, can suddenly experience a potentially dangerous disruption. anyway, I make sure that I get regular aerobic exercise, besides yoga: I walk half or job slowly half an hour a day. Also, I just starting taking hawthorne, an herb that helps strengthen the heart and circulatory system. As with any herb, my m.d. (the great new one:) knows I'm taking this. THis is the only herb I'm taking now and just started a few days ago. Guest guest
Hi - I'm not doing anything about it (that doesn't mean you shouldn't get it checked out). I'm married to an academic emergency physician so I don't do anything about it since he's not too worried about it. However, he's with me very often (and if he's not I can beep him and he'll call me right back)so it's not the same. When I was in labor with my son, I went into SVT (supraventricular tachicardia) which had happened many times before but that was the scariest. The OB/GYN didn't know what the heck was going on but Tom (my husband. Told me to stay calm until the next contraction and then it would go away). It did so I trust him ( like it did all the other times when he told me to bear down). I did have an echocardiogram 10 years ago which showed that I had nothing serious going on. Those of you that haven't had any abnormalities checked out should have it done. Although it's probably nothing serious, sometimes it can be. Take care, Re: Elaine- heart tachycardia > and : > > Are you guys doing anything about it, or is it just something we live with? > I don't know whether it is dangerous to have a floppy heart! > > At 04:13 PM 05/30/2001 -0700, you wrote: > >Hi - > > > >I did have the same thing happen when I was hyper and when I was hypo and on > >T4 alone.
