Guest guest
Glad you had fun on your trip Jean! Drink extra water today and maybe you'll flush some out - I know that whenever I don't get all my water in, my scales nudge upwards a little - but it still isn't enough to make me drink up some days! Guest guest
Thanks, Kirstie. I started drinking extra as soon as I returned home last night, so I am hoping that will help. Of course, by the end of the week I will be battling water retention, so it does not bode well for the scales going back down. I was just pleased that I didn't gain any more than I would on a normal weekend. Maybe that says I need to really be more diligent on the weekends, which I do, but it always seems to be such a battle for me when I am away from home. I'm just not assertive enough when I eat out to get things the way I want them. Gee, that sounds like my same problem with the weekday lunches that challenge me. Today we are under an ice storm warning and it has been doing the slushy rain kind of thing all morning. When this all freezes tonight, it will be a nightmare. I have a fairly steep incline on my driveway, so ice is particularly miserable. Oh well, since my sister works at Central and I drove this weekend through snow that would make most people stay home, I called her for a ride to work. At least I won't have to worry about getting my car in the garage without hitting it tonight. :-) Hope everyone else dealing with this is doing okay. Guest guest
Where do you live, Jean? That sounds pretty treacherous, so stay safe and warm, Jan
Guest guest
I live in Pella, Iowa. This morning it was a rain/sleet combination which is now just rain. As the temperature drops we are going to have a real mess though. I keep hoping that they will close the college and send the employees/faculty home. They don't do that very quick though at a residential college because nearly all of our students are already on campus and with tuition costs being what they are, classes go on if at all possible. Tonight the rain is supposed to turn back into a freezing mixture and more snow accumulation by tomorrow morning. Guest guest
I had a receipe for Curried Chicken some time ago that was really good. It had cream and curry powder, and after the chicken was done, you drained the liquid and blended it in a blender and added it to the chicken again. Does this sound familiar to anyone? If so, could you post it again? Joyce
