Guest guest
Hi Barb, Charisse-- I tried Lyrica about a year ago, I think I was on the same dose as you Barb. I have EXTREME shoulder/neck pains and knees, and it didn't do anything for me. My neurologist wanted to start me on higher doses, but I was so afraid of weight gain (I gained 30 lbs already from amitryptaline) that I told him no. Now, I'm starting to rethink that, I might try it again because I can't tolerate the pains anymore. charchar1974 wrote: Thank you Barb this is great news. Right now my pain is my lower back, buttocks and bladder/urethra. I can't do anything without flaring my bladder so my hope is Lyrica could help that. It's shown some promising results in small studies so far. I couldn't tolerate Wellbutrin. In fact I think it made my fibro worse because that's when I stopped sleeping and got so constipated! Guest guest
Charisse, I forgot to add to my note that I am on 150mg capsule of lyrica, twice a day. I did not start out that high but worked up to it. Margaret B
Guest guest
Margaret thank you for the info! I have to start out with the baby dose of any medication except for benzodiazpines, antihistamines and sleep meds. I can take large amounts of those and be okay but anything else I'm very sensitive too. Charisse > > Charisse, > I forgot to add to my note that I am on 150mg capsule of lyrica, > twice a day. Guest guest
Oh yes! It really helps the nerve pain and eases the other pains somewhat but I still need more than just the Lyrica. Guest guest
I started out with 25 mg and gradually worked up. My Dr told me to stop increasing it if I had any problems so I stopped at 150 mg twice a day. Above that I started having some kind of reaction but I can't remember what it was. I was never told that it would affect my eyes or not to drive. Perhaps because I started out with such a low dose. Margaret B > What did you start off with.. Guest guest
How I wish I could be at 120 Again that was years ago. I am at 208. That was when I was in my teens. I am trying to lost it now. I had to put my 2 cents in. Rox. Margaret Badner wrote: Well I am up to 129 and I was 126 for a long time. (I " d rather be around 120.)
