Guest guest
, OK, now, that's enough rides on the roller coaster, darlin'. Time to come home and rest up for a while. Jeez Louise, I was hoping you would be all better by now, and I know YOU were hoping for the same. You got prayers, good wishes, and soft, rubs and hugs. Guest guest
Subject: Ok .. update > Hi - Boy did you have a day!!!! My goodness.......... Dr.'s can sure be insenitive assholes huh? Mine day wasn't half as bad, but my blood tests came back very high positive on the titer scale it was 1:320 The only place I feel pain is in my shoulder joints, not good when I have to do hair all day. It made me very upset, had myself a few cocktails to numb the feelings. At this point I'm just on Pred( didn't say on label not to drink) Didn't help! I have to get a base line eye test before starting on Plaqeunil. These pages have helped me so much thank you for sharing your trauma with us.Take good care of yourself and stay calm (no murders today please lol) I've been referred to a Rheumy Dr.now since It's not just the Disciod type. Not looking forward to the future of that! Take care Babe- that heart is swollen because you have so much love in there......... Have a good day, Lynzster Ok .. here is the update on my doctor visit.. guess who STILL has pneumonia after taking 7 rounds of antibiotics?? GRRRRRR ... me! I also have fluid around the heart, pleurisy, and a fractured rib (explains the pain in the side .. at least it isn't my kidney). CBC was all over the board. High when it should have been low .. and low when it should have been high. ANA was 1:64 SED rate was 162 C-Reactive Protein was high (4.6), so had to go back to the lab for them to run a more sensitive hs-CRP .. it's to determine if I am fixing to have another heart attack. Dont know what that result was .. EKG was .. well, as normal as can be for someone who has had 3 heart attacks .. my pulse was high 134 and BP was 92/58. So, I spent some of the afternoon and some of the evening in the " day surgery " at my doctor's having IV drip Levaquin (antibiotic). smiles .. my son brought me his laptop lol .. so I wouldn't be going crazy doing nothing.. what a sweetie. So .. it boils down to .. pneumonia .. pleurisy .. cracked rib .. and hey .. guess what? .. I have Lupus!! *rolls eyes* .. one of my doctor's partners came in and said " I have to tell you you have Lupus. Here is some information on it. Read it but don't worry .. the pain isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. " I came uncorked!! (do doctors read charts???) I said .. in a very quiet and controlled voice even though I wanted to tear his head off.. " I know I have Lupus. I was diagnosed in 2000, but had the symptoms since the late '80's. So don't go telling me that Lupus isn't that bad! Do you have Lupus? If not, then you have no right to judge someone else's level of pain tolerance. The pain is not " made up in my head " .. it is in my muscles .. my joints .. my skin .. so take your opinions elsewhere 'cause I don't need to hear them. " He apologized and said, " You misunderstood me. I didn't mean to say the pain was in your head. " I told him, " Then I suggest you come up with a better line than " the pain isn't as bad as some people make it out to be. " because that sentence insinuates that the pain is NOT real .. and believe me .. its real. You are a doctor. People look to you for answers .. not to be told their pain doesn't matter. " My doctor came in at that moment and the other doc apologized again and left. My doc looked at me .. saw the elevated heart rate (by now my heart rate was 160-170 according to the monitor) and told me .. " You can kill him after you get better .. but for now, no more fighting. " and then we both laughed .. he knows me well. So, I skirted another visit to the hospital (my doc knows how bad I hate them as I had one of my heart attacks because of an ICU doctor's mistake while I was in the hospital). I was sent home with orders to " Do nothing. No shopping .. no lifting .. no straining .. no killing people .. just easy walking around the house to keep blood clots from forming in my legs. " And I go back on Monday for him to check me again. sighs .. gads .. life with lupus .. a thrill a minute .. pfffttttt hugs .. Guest guest
You really are being put thru the wringer! Hang in there you will get better! I have a gp who doen't belive in antibiotics until the infection is bad.. me, I insist on antibiotics asap to ward off a bad infection... We agree to disagree... hope the Levaquin does the trick! It is a great antibiotic... Hugs........Deb P.S. Kill the doc for me too! Maybe he thought he was being positive... as is " the prognosis is not as bad as some people say BECAUSE modern treatments and pain management are making living with Lupus easier " .... if he didn't mean that...change his mind!!GRR! > Ok .. here is the update on my doctor visit.. > guess who STILL has pneumonia after taking 7 rounds of antibiotics?? > GRRRRRR ... me! > > I also have fluid around the heart, pleurisy, and a fractured rib > (explains the pain in the side .. at least it isn't my kidney). > > CBC was all over the board. Guest guest
Insensitive jerk! If you can join a rec center that has an indoor pool, and your skin can stand the chlorine.. Well, it might do you a world of good! I used to go when I hurt real bad and just float.. it is amazing what getting the weight off will do and in the water I feel weightless . It is also easier to exercize in the water and we do need to move thru the pain in some way to keep as mobile as possible. Swimming is the best! Maybe you can get some literature to educate your gp.... or find one who is more sympathetic... hugs.........Deb > I agree that Drs.can be real assholes. I am without a rheumy for a few months > now abd can''t get into see one untill October. My pmc just does'nt know much > about lupus, He just thinks I should join a recreation center and get more > excercise. Like it does'nt already hurt to move, and walk. > Hang in there .. > > LONEWOLF
