Guest guest
Stan, I didn't know I was hypothyroid until I was diagnosed with A- fib/flutter. I went to er for an acute asthma attack (shortness of breath and wheezing) and found I was in Afib, along with being hypothyroid.....in my case COPD, hypothyroidism all go along with Afib/flutter. Guest guest
Hi Stan, For what it's worth my EP said hypothyroid can cause a slow pulse and sometimes when your pulse is to slow you can go into AF. I was just put on thyroid meds, a very low dose for hypothyroid, and on the third day of taking them I had AF. They said it was not from them and keep taking them. Now I am covered with hives with I have had since September, but since on the thyroid meds they seem to be worse. I can't stand it anymore, I itch all the time. Peggy > Have paroxysmal A. Guest guest
I have hypothyroid ism also, BUT, my doctor thinks it is because I was on Cordarone for a while. I am now off and in a month they are going to test me to see if it went back to normal. I take 25mg. of Synthroid everyday. A. Fib. + hypothyroid Have paroxysmal A. Fib. since Oct./02.
