Guest guest
Dear Friends I know my experience is totally unlike anyone else's but when I had my son I had a C-Section and they gave me a spinal. I had no idea I had a Chiari at that time. I had been hearing water gushig in my ear during the pregnancy but of course no one knew what it was. All the noise stopped for three days after the spinal. When it came back, my ear was throbbing wildly and the water sounds were like a river. THe surgeon told me the spinal did me in. He never said how or what it did to cause such a terrible condition. Now that I am looking for a new surgeon, none of them really bother to listen to or believe this really happened to me. Just a hysterical women carrying on. A few Nsg's even told me that spinal taps, spinal anesthesia are NOT even contraidicated for Chiari. Two surgeons wanted me to have a tap done just to see if the sounds go away again. I told them I will do it if you operate on me the next day because if I have that ear throbbing again like I had it, I would die. I was incapacitated from it. I wish I knew what it caused to happen to my Chiari. Someone in the group said it probably pushed my tonsils down further. I feel that is true. I wish that sometimes the doctors wold believe us even a little bit. Thank you Dana
