Guest guest
Kristy, They first saw a " gallbladder stone " years before with a sonagram<?>. Said if I was hurting not to worry. Three or four yrs latter started having pain with certain foods and when I first would lay down. Dr went endoscopically to check for Acid-reflux damage (none) - gave me Prevacid '98. Next year and 1/2 ate anything and slept like a baby. Then I started having like heartburn after eating and when I went to sleep. Pain seemed to come from different areas in solar-plex area, so I would move till comfortable - at one point I knew exactly how to lay and sleep!!! Couple months later, late '99 there wasn't any getting rid of the pain. It was unbearable. Called Doc - said meet me him at the hospital. After a short time - I was on top of the food chain again!<g> I don't remember, Gallbladder was removed endoscopically, but I spent 5 days in the hospital. Something about when putting your insides asleep. They would not release me - till I was operational. To this day my wife ( T1) still remembers " I blew the doors off the hinges " - can't imagine..., don't remember! You don't need your Gallbladder - nowadays doctors will wait till your coming in from an ambulance before they touch you. I can't believe I waited that long!!! & T1
Guest guest
Kristy, I was reading your note again... I am not a doctor... > We are going to try and find out if that's part of what was going on > with the indigestion my mom had just to make sure even though a > family dr told my mom that indigestion is not a symptom of > gallbladder problems only to find out that yes it can be. Yes I would call my symtoms to the doctor " indigestion. " That is why they went endoscopic through mouth to stomach to check for acid-reflux or damage to the esophagus. Back then I was given " Previcid " and I'll never forget - I could 'all the sudden drink hot-sauce!' Just think, had that proceedure and it was my Gallbladder all along - IMHO. I'm from Houston, full of doctors, but maybe your Mom would benefit from a " Gastroenterologist. " I would at least get a sonagram<sp> - you know those things they look at babies with inside you.<g> & T1
