Guest guest
Carol, Just spread it all over the top. Bake for 45 minutes, and if it looks like it needs more time in the oven, bake it for 15 more minutes. Start with 3 cups of sliced jicima and if it looks like it isn't enough, then you can add more. Does that help? Terry
Guest guest
Terry, I also meant to tell you that you can have all of the testing done independently. If your doctor is unwilling or if it's just a pain that way, simply call Great Smokies (can't find the number right now, but I'll keep looking) and ask them to send you the kit. Then you can fedex the fecal samples right to them. Please let me know if you have anymore questions. Gotta pay attention. >Amy >definitely loaned me her copy and I do hope I returned that. You did! And Terry, if you would like, I can send you my copy. Just let me know. I think I know that whole chapter by heart, so I wouldn't miss it. Usually the only way that it can be accurately assessed is through a neuropsychological. It goes beyond the psychological testing because alot of these kids do not necessarily show a discrepancy between verbal and performance IQ's. My son really did well in school up until this past year. I do know that hormones may be playing into it a bit, but I don't think it is the complete problem. He has had a very hard time socially this year and it (obviously) seemed to effect everything. He is going to see Conor's private speech therapist (who deals alot in teens/Asperger's) for the summer. It will be costly though because she accepts no insurance. The school pays for Conor to see her because of the due process from last year. I would welcome any suggestions for reading and/or websites. I have done quite a bit of research myself and there are alot of similarities to and the whole description of NLD. Plus he has never been formally tested.
