Guest guest
, I know the feeling very well, as I went through that situation myself only a few years ago. Unfortunately, when there are children involved, some mothers, [certainly in my case], can brainwash the children against their fathers, and it's only just now that my daughter has recently got back in touch, and started talking with me. Unfortunately, when I went through my divorce 8 years ago, Not that I couldn't look after myself, but, with the combination of both the worry and the upset of the breakdown of my marriage, and the stress of the uncertainty of my job at the Bank, being they were doing away with my position along with other customers service personnel within the local branches, which were all taking place at the same time, didn't help me to keep my diabetes under control as I would have liked. Like you, I have been lucky in finding a second wife. came over from the States, not long after losing her daughter to Cancer at the age of 18 and a half. We therefore, had each other to look after. Not only does she care about me as a person, but, is also trying to understand how to look after me with my diabetes. rowe Merry Christmas, Hey, finally got my fasting sugar down to an acceptable reading. I know when people offer me a candy bar, and I tell them I'm a diabetic, they understand. And like I said in an earlier post, this year, I'm truly blessed. I have a house to live in, food to eat, and someone who truly loves me. I don't have any money, but I've accepted that, and am not angry about having to pay high support payments. Guest guest
Hi Vicki Yes, this is a hard time of year for those of us with a sweet tooth and friends who like to bring treats. I don’t usually have people pushing sweets on me personally, but where I work, people are often bringing in home made goodies such as fudge to leave at the front desk. As I am filling in for the receptionist every morning in December, dealing with the smell from these sweets and trying to keep my hands off of them is difficult. Regarding your friend, just explain that you are concerned about your health and need to make that a priority. Explain that there are sugar free candies he could bring but that even those should be eaten in moderation. Suggest that he perhaps take you to lunch or just spend time doing something fun that doesn’t involve eating with you as a Christmas gift. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Dear peoples on this list. Most of the time I am able to pretty much stay off the high sugar stuff. Once in a grate while I'll cheat a little but that is mainly on holidays like Christmas or thanksgiving or on birthdays. Other then that I turn down sugar stuff. Guest guest
Hi, I guess a lot of people are used to eating too much. Try eating 2 just hamburgers-and one bun-or even half a bun. Several of the fast food places out here in California are making hambugers without buns-wrapping them in lettuce leaves. They are very good that way; very mess, but good!
