Guest guest
Just my opinion here, it seems that a stock market board would be different than a support board. In this group people get personal with each other in the interest of lending support. It gets personal and funny at times and I sure don't mind reading it. Kind of a relief from what I'm going through myself. In support of your suggestion, I know some are really not interested in the social side of these groups and would prefer staying on track. If that were the case with this group I would probably leave and go start my own or something. My preference is a group of people with a common bond (disease in this case) that is not limited to strictly disease talk. I like the part about making friends and sharing jokes, experiences, etc. Ed *Endora the PAC made me write this* > I belonged to a stock market message board.Whenever one person wanted > to chat with another they would start the subject with the letters OT > (Off Topic). Then in the message body they would say, " meet me in the > chat room now or at a specific time. Guest guest
I'm with Ed, but I do understand those who do not wish to indulge in off-topic discussions. I think those of us with time on our hands appreciate the personal contact our present system provides in the way of emotional support. I like the technical discussions, but I also like the personalities that come through in the humor and shared empathy through the non-technical discussions. Guest guest
Any of our members are welcome to use the chat room at any time. It is important to understand that it will not be moderated by any of the moderators though. The best thing to do is to post a time you will be there, be sure to include the time zone you are in, and any other members are welcome to join you. We are really an email group, and previous attempts to use the chat room have not proved to be of interest to the majority of our members. that said, it is there to use at any time. Guest guest
Just go to the main yahoo website at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/iga-nephropathy/ Then on the left hand menu, you will see a chat option. That is how you get there. In a message dated 1/12/2004 7:24:29 PM Pacific Standard Time, richandjulie2002@... writes: > > , > How does one get to the chat room? Guest guest
I don't visit the site very often. I just noticed that you have a chat room. Is there a scheduled time for chats.
Guest guest
Hey Jack: Nice to see you here! No...unfortunately we tried on several occasions to set a day and time, but somehow it just never worked out. On occasion a few members just put a message out there and announce that they would be in the Chat Room, and that seems to be pretty successful. Yahoo has been going down so often, Bobby created a backup site for our group, and its great. One of the features is an experiemental chat box - and when a member is there, he or she can talk to anyone else who may be at the site at the same time. It's less formal, but really cool. http://afibsupport.proboards23.com/ How have you been? It's been a while! My best to you!
