Ok, my mom had her go at me with Old Country Buffet the other day, well tonight my dad wanted to take us out to King's Buffet. King's Buffet is Chinese, Japanese, and American food, and desserts, and more, all you can eat (told you my parents love buffets). Well I had 350-500 calories left for the day, and I kept to the sushi, and crab legs (unbuttered, the kind you have to crack yourself) and salad, no dressing except some vinegar. Now, this I am REALLY proud of. Because Chinese food buffets I usually CANNOT control myself. I probably came in around the 500 calorie mark but that works for me! This time it was actually hard, I was really hungry too. I decided that once I break 130 I'm treating myself to a buffet and eating desserts too as a celebration.

Just for those that don't know, sushi is actually just medium glycemic, and I eat stuff like that for training anyway.

zzzzzzzzzzzz<<< This is me snoring getting so tired at thinking of how much exercise you have done over the holidays Amie. Jeesh, you amaze me girl. Guess what though, my husband got me an exercise ball for Christmas, the SB diet cookbook, a video for the exercise ball, and a walk away the pounds video. So far, I have blown the ball up, but I promise I will get working out soon!!!! No marathons for me but being 80+ pounds overweight this is a big step in the right direction.

I have been "treating" but today I have vowed to get back on plan. Picked a couple recipes out of the cookbook to try.

Amie, good job on the buffett and moving the temptation. My mom is so different. She totally was supporting, telling me the clothespin cookies tasted bad, etc, and complimenting me when I stayed with the program. I'm glad you are able to do what you want to do in spite of the temptation.

You're so lucky Amie. I can't eat fish. I'm so allergic to it just the SMELL makes me ill. I have to go the the extent that if we go to a restaurant that serves fish, I have to specify them to use different utensils to cook my food other than what they use to cook everything else because it might get some of the fish oils on it.

WOW my professor is allergic to any kind of nuts. So bad he will go to the hospital if something is even cooked with nuts. Do you take some sort of flax seed oil or other omega supplements?

I haven't because I just found out the benefits of Omega-3 recently. I'm going to be going to buy some Flax Seed this weekend and start eating a tablespoon or 2 a day.

I so feel for your professor. He must have to really read the labels on everything.

yes. really good about incorporating the flax seed.

and yeah, he is a photojournalist still and travels all over the world, and has had incidents where there is a foreign food people really wanted him to try, only to find out after there were nuts in it.

Hi Lori,

I am an athlete an so I need to do SBD differently, in that I need to make sure that I am getting enough calories and carbs to support my training. I am mostly on phase 2 but sometimes include other foods, again for my training. I think my weight loss has been stalled in the past by not eating enough when training, and don't want this to happen again.

If you don't workout very much you are fine with normal SBD.
