Guest guest
We are using it; actually used EpiCor for a month or so and then EpiCor Jr and are still using it. I'm really not sure that we've seen anything. My son is doing pretty well, although there are still some concerns that we are working on. Is EpiCor supposed to be similar to NCD? _____ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of Lila Sent: Friday, September 01, 2006 11:17 AM Subject: [ ] Epicor Anyone using Epicor? Comments other than the price? Guest guest
I'm not up on NCD, but here is an article about Epicor: http://www.vrp.com/art/1887.asp?c=1157132466296 & k=/epicor/index.asp & m=/includes/\ vrp.css & p=no & s=0 This is a yeast-based product, but according to VRP's FAQ it is not a yeast that we have to worry about. FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 1. Has EpiCor™ been tested on the 1918 flu strain (a strain similar to the Bird Flu)? We could never test EpiCor™ against the bird flu because that would make it a drug. Also, there isn't any of the 1918 flu strain to test, it only lasted about 8 months world-wide before it disappeared. 2. Can you tell if EpiCor™ helps to raise the CD4 count (not just only raising the CD4/CD8 ratio by decreasing CD8 count)? In the pharmacokinetic study we did see it raise CD4. 3. Can an individual with a yeast sensitivity or Candida albicans take EpiCor™ safely? Of course. As you can appreciate, there is no similarity between S. cereviseae, which is pervasive in the food supply and air, and C. albicans, which is an opportunistic yeast that grows under ideal conditions in an individual who has a compromised immune system. If EpiCor™ would cause someone with a yeast sensitivity to have a reaction, then one would have to expect the entire world's population to be reacting to this yeast, probably resulting in termination of the human species eons ago, because it is found in the air and eaten by billions of people every day. 4. Since one species of Candida was killed, is there any evidence for C. Albicans? We did not test C. albicans. 5. Since EpiCor™ is immunostimulatory relative to CD4/CD8 cells, might it make allergy symptoms and responsiveness worse? EpiCor™ is not immunostimulatory. It is an immune modulator. There seems to be some misunderstanding as to the definition of a stimulator and a modulator. EpiCor™ has been shown in the in vitro human peripheral lymphocytes assay not to cause mitosis. Guest guest
I attempted to reply to this earlier today but it didn't go threw. We started using EpiCor with our 4 1/2 yr. old daughter in June. It caused wetting accidents all of the time. When she has yeast die-off it causes wetting accidents. The epicor added to her anti-yeast protocal allowed us to be able to use a sprinkle of ViraStop four times a day. For us ViraStop increases yeast. We really like both of these products. Guest guest
Melinda, that is the way our's was also, better with a fever. EpiCor is said to be an immune modulator, but we are going to take a wait and see approach with it. When the immune system overreacts kids never get sick. Ours went almost two years without even a cold. Chelation will help some with this, so, IMO, chelate for awhile and then worry about the viruses. [ ] Re: Epicor , I have so much yet to learn. My daughter's immune system seems to be running on high. She often is flushed or feels warm/running slight temp. When she is doing so she seems more " on " . She was fully immunized and it appears we have tons of viruses. What is an immune modulator or where can I go to find out about this? What does it look like when the immune system over reacts and why is that bad? Thanks so much for your help! Melinda > > > > > > Anyone using Epicor? Guest guest
No, I'm sorry I do not have any information about that. We haven't really explored low oxalates at this point, although I have been considering looking into it. Maybe if you post on the LOD board someone may know. It is basically just a certain type of (beneficial?) yeast, so I would not think it to be high oxalate but don't know for sure. We haven't had any adverse reactions to it and my daughter is pretty sensitive to a lot of other immune boosting things, for some reason. Guest guest
I was on it a long time. I did not notice a thing. After a week on nystatin and caprylic acid, I am signifigantly better. The other ones I highly recommend, butyrn and wellbetx, I just went off butyrn to try the husks, and it was a big mistake. I need to go back on it. Those are the ones I notice the biggest difference. Guest guest
Dede, Thanks so much for the note. My blurry vision is gone as well as the severe headaches, thanks to the Nystatin. I still just feel weird and my left eye is weak. Unfortunately my husband and I made a sad discovery this evening about my health. I remembered I had the flu back in November and my health really took a nosedive 2 mos after it. Well, I looked back at my calendar and realize I had had a Hep B vaccine for work a few weeks before the flu. I never made the connection because the flu seemed isolated and I recovered from it...although looking back I had fatigue that has continued to progress. Anyway, when we looked up hep b reactions, numbness, optic neuritis and vision loss are some of the symptoms and can occur within days, weeks and progress over months. This is so maddening!! Seems I can't trust the dentist (mercury amalgams), the doctor (dangerous vaccines) or plastic surgeon (toxic defective implants)!! This is so disappointing because it's just one more thing to worry about detoxing. I'm seriously considering making an appt with Dr. Mercola in Chicago but I hate to spend money we don't have. I hate to complain...I need some of your positive attitude to rub off on me! You're so good for us Dede. If only everyone on Earth had your spirit, the world would be a better place. I hope you are having a peaceful evening and you're in my prayers as well. Guest guest
Hi PH, Oh, now that is a bummer about the Hep B vaccine. I just don't have good feelings about vaccines anymore. I hope this is not one of the causes of your struggling immune system, but it sure sounds like it. Dr. Mercola has such great information.... P, who I communicated with recently, has seen Dr. Mercola and she had good things to say about him. I have no idea how expensive he is, but I can only imagine! Do you have any other info on the Hep B vaccine, such as how to overcome symptoms of a reaction? It seems that detoxing is key in all of this. Keep up the good work, you are a super sleuth! I have no doubt that you will find the answers you need. Pattyperfecthealth68 <perfecthealth68@...> wrote: Dede, Thanks so much for the note. Guest guest
PH ~ Hello, how are you today? I am glad to hear your headaches and blurry vision are gone, thanks to the Nystatin....I am so sorry to hear about your flu and Hep B vaccine experience........just one more thing to detox. It is good that you now know why you were running into road blocks, or having persistant difficulty. Now you can kick back and heal and detox and not worry why it wasnt seeming to work. It is, it will just take longer. Bless you PH ~ DedeSee what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage.

Guest guest
PH I think that you are doing a great job detoxing and eating well and living right and all. But, sit back and relax, it takes awhile to detox, then to replinish the good organisms, and then your body to go back to optimal "perfect health" I dont think it is necessary to go to any more doctors. Just sit back, relax, and let your body heal. You already are doing the right things......Now it is up to your body to do the rest. This will take time, no amount of doctors or testing or any of that will speed up that process. Even tho it is slower than you wish, it is taking its time because it IS healing perfectly........perfect takes time and patients Love DedeSee what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
PH, I'd suggest giving yourself some more time before seeing Dr. Mercola, especially since the money is a problem right now. . . You're still in the early stages of detoxing and your body hasn't had time to settle down from explant. If you're still having problems in a few months, your visit with Mercola would probably be more productive. You are one of the more impatient women we've had here. . . Couldn't be that your standard is set to to "perfect" . . . LOL! . . . You're going to get there - but not as fast as you'd like! Guest guest
I see what you're saying, Rogene. I am super impatient and yes, sad to say, but the whole standard of perfection thing has a hint of truth in it! I chose the username perfecthealth because that was my goal when I first joined. I feel if I have to type something in several times a day, why not make it a goal or positive word. Through this whole experience though, I'm starting to realize that perfection is a myth and see my illness as a result of constantly trying to achieve something that doesn't exist. I was in search of the " perfect " body and it nearly killed me. I've always worked my butt off at everything I do and I think it finally wore me down! In fact, I'm not sure I even like the word Perfect now...LOL! Perfect health doesn't exist for anyone entirely and even if I was able to achieve it, not sure it would completely make me happy. Health will bring me comfort, for sure, but I'm learning what truly makes me happy is a deeper relationship with God...something I never expected breast implants to give me!! Anyway, I'll try to be more patient like you say. Thanks for the advice...you're so good for all of us. - PH > > PH, > > I'd suggest giving yourself some more time before seeing Dr. Mercola, especially since the money is a problem right now. . . > > You're still in the early stages of detoxing and your body hasn't had time to settle down from explant. > > If you're still having problems in a few months, your visit with Mercola would probably be more productive. > > You are one of the more impatient women we've had here. . . Guest guest
Dede, You're right about not needing to see anymore doctors. You wouldn't believe how many I've seen! I was seeing my chiros twice weekly in the midst of eye specialists, infectious disease specialists, endos, colon hydrotherapists, cranio & detxo specialists, you name it...and am I better?...marginally. My husband and I are celebrating our 15th anniversary tomorrow but I got a call from my doctor who is testing my hormones. Unfortunately she can only fit me in tomorrow at dinner time...poor hubby. He's made so many sacrifices with this mess! Thanks for your advice and healing words, I appreciate it, Dede! - Love, PH > > PH > I think that you are doing a great job detoxing and > eating well and living right and all. Guest guest
Hi Biz and Everyone, The Traditional Chinese Medicine was prescribed by a Chinese Traditional Medicine Doctor. It is not something you can get over the counter. The possibility that the same kind of liver problems I had are just like yours is remote. This is from a friend's daughter who is a licenced Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor: "In general, the main pathologies of the Liver are:~skin diseases~abnormal fluctuations in energy levels, mood, or emotions~irritability, anger, frustration~pain or feelings of distention~gynecological problems""Black sesame seed is a Liver and Kidney tonic. Here is the text on hei zhi ma (black sesame seed) from my herbal materia medica:""~nourishes and fortifies the Liver and Kidneys: for yin deficiency of the Liver and Kidneys with such symptoms as blurred vision, tinnitus, and dizziness. Also used to help patients recover from severe illness and to increase the quantity of breast milk~nourishes the blood and extinguishes wind: for headaches, dizziness, and numbness due to blood or yin deficiency. Particularly useful for dizziness that worsens with activity.~moistens and lubricates the intestines: for constipation due to dry intestines or blood deficiency"""If you go to a TCM licensed Doctor and have a pulse and tongue diagnosis you may pin point not only the cause but the protocol for restoring balance."""This sentence is totally true! In fact there is no "may" about it. In Chinese Medicine the diagnosis dictates the treatment. If the diagnosis is qi stagnation, you move qi. If the diagnosis is blood deficiency, you tonify blood. If the Kidney-yang is found to be weak, you strengthen is. If there is too much heat, you clear the heat. And on and on... In other words, the cause of the condition IS the diagnosis. Unlike western medicine, there is never a case where the diagnosis is clear but the cause is unknown." There is as much science to Traditional Chinese Medicine as there is art. Westerners seem to have forgoten that healing is an art as well as a science. I suggest finding some balck sesame seed. That will probably not hurt you. It taste quite good to me once I got used to it. Hope this helps ) ann [low dose naltrexone] Epicor> > > > If one has a sensitivity to yeast, should they take this? Theingredients are yeast based.
