LOL), so doctor started me on Zocor. Anyone else on statins? My doctor and I recently agreed to bump up my statin dosage to 80 mg of Lipitor, on the basis that my genetics are totally against me, and I may as well try the latest proven way to decrease artery damage. I swear I feel " a little better " since starting this new program nearly two months ago. Let's hope it helps me overall cardiovascular problems. Anyone else on statins? In spite of the fact that I had very good results with Zocor, I refuse to use it anymore. The side effects that I had were too much for me. My legs hurt so bad and I couldn't rest at night because I had so much trouble with my right arm. Additionally I also had stomach cramps, excess gas, constipation, really bad headaches, memory lapses, etc. Not everyone has side effects and that's good if you don't because statins do work. Before I started taking Zocor my chol was only 120, but since I've also had a heartattack and use insulin my doctor said I need to be under 100. She has prescribed Lescol instead, but I refuse to go through this again. 3 days after I stopped taking the Zocor everything went back to normal. No more muscle pain, headaches or anything.
