Guest guest
, Yes the Prodigy talks; it is smaller, faster and less expensive and takes less blood than the Accucheck. I use the Accuchec too, but as you have probably heard, Roesch Is no longer making Accuchecks as of Jan. 1. The strips will still be available for a while (I don't know how long), but the Prodigy and new one, The Sensocard are much better machines. Good morning to all In reading e-mails I have noticed that quite alot of you use the Prodigy. I am totally blind and use the Accucheck Voice-mate and use comfort curve strips. Do quite alot of you still have good enough vision to use a regular meter? Are is the Prodigy have voice? I am finding out on this new routine I have learned alot about carbs and just exactly what can cause your b.s. to go nuts. But on the other hand finding out about food that can keep it rather normal. Believe it is a day to day struggle. Thanks for listening.
Guest guest
Hi I used to use the Accu-Chek and Voicemate, but when I heard about the Prodigy talking meter, I had to have it. It is about the same size as the Accu-Chek but talks by itself. So you don’t have that bulky Voicemate and can carry it with you easily. Plus, it always irritated me that the battery on the Accu-Chek and the battery for the Voicemate never went bad at the same time. I got my Prodigy from speaktomecatalog.com, and if you get your strips from them, they put the code number in Braille on the box. It isn’t fully audible right now, i.e. the memory function does not speak, but I hear they are working on that. I ma not have been keeping up on all of the prodigy info but can a totally blind person use the prodigy? Vicki Breffe If you pick up a starving dog and make him prosperous, he will not bite you. Guest guest
Hi Vicki, I am totally blind and am using the Prodigy, but if you are satisfied with the Accuchek then keep using it. The Prodigy still needs to be set up by someone with vision, but in the new year there will be a Prodigy that you can set up yourself.
