Guest guest
Gretchen, You did good! I've found it's easy to talk about MY experience . .. not to question them. If they're interested, they'll listen. . . What is so disturbing is that when I start talking to them, they all know women and children who are sick! I love to tell them about this group . . . and how women come here so horribly ill, but get their life back after explant and detoxing! Guest guest
Hi Gretchen, Good for you!! It's possible that the woman who already had her surgery scheduled would not have listened to you, but I think the fact that you were able to get into the heads of those young impressionable girls is really important!! You may have just saved them from a lifetime of misery. We can't save everyone from making the same mistake, but getting the word out there is so important. I think the business cards are a great idea. Make sure to let us know when the website is up and running! Sis > I went to the mall today and this lady in front of me in line at a > small " boutique " -ish type clothing store was talking about how she was > SO excited to get her implants. I was pretty sure she was talking > about it but I didn't want to be too nosey. Then I heard her talk > about $5,000 and the young 16 year old girls at the cashier looked at > her in awe and told her good luck and I could tell by the look in > their eyes that this 40 year old lady who wanted to look younger and > bustier was someone they looked up to. The lady walked away and I > studdered. I wanted to scream.. " IMPLANTS RUINED MY LIFE!! " but I am > just getting back into the world and didn't know how. I kind of > mumbled to the girls.. " Did you know that woman? " and they said no, so > I said " oh I thought she was talking about breast implants? " The girls > giggled yes and I said ok.. well in case you ever heard of the > warnings they give you that " implants could get you sick but it is not > proven " - I got implants last year and I lost my memory, got very > sick, couldn't drive, hardly get out of bed, and I am just now getting > better.. I haven't worked in almost a year. The girls eyes got so big > in shock. I knew they were young and impressionable and wouldn't get > an attitude with my sharing my views. My > delimna however, was with the woman. I am going to get business cards > made so I can hand them out and maybe that would be easier, but for > someone who has their mind made up - and me being a shy woman myself, > it is hard to say hey i just wanted to let you know I got sick. I > think I took a big step today though and I am very very happy about > that. I also appreciate my bf for sharing with a bartender who served > him when he was out of town for work.
