simple washing powder

16 cups baking soda

12 cups borax

12 cups washing soda

8 cups grated castile soap or glycerin soap

3 tablespoons lavender,lemon,or grapefruit

combine baking soda , borax,washing soda and soap flakes.Add essential oils and mix with a wire whisk.Use 1 1/8 cup of powder per load.

This recipe makes enough powder to last a family of four One year.

For fabric softner

1 cup of vinegar in load or in fabric softner cycle

Pretreat stains

1/2 cup white vinegar

1/4 cup baking soda

3 cups water

Stir together and fill a labeled spray bottle.Spray on heavily soiled spots just before washing or let sit 15 mins or more

Bleach /brightner substitute

1 cup hydrogen peroxide

1 1/4 cup lemon

12 cups water

store in a labeled one gallon jug can add to cups per load.Borax is a natural bleach to.I never have to use this recipe.
