It's a ophthalmologist im seeing

Examine your eyes, ask you to read the chart, put drops in your eyes, have to

wait about 15-20 minutes, then the doctor will shine the light in your eyes.

If you do not have dark sunglasses with you, ask for a pair of those throw

aways. Otherwise, you may not be able to see to drive. (It doesn't hurt at

all. lol)

It might not be a bad idea to have someone with you to drive if

possible. Most of the time I can drive but I did have one where even

a couple of hours later I was having problems with seeing clearly to

drive. Since then I try to schedule mine so that my hubby can go

with me just in case as that was a bit scarey.

I was diagnosed in late May '04 and I have my first eye exam scheduled for

Friday the 25th. Both my Aunt's, who are diabetic, have had the laser surgery

for retinopathy. Since I am a proofreader by profession and love to read this

is something that scares me alot.

Thanks, Bernie, for the reminder.

Good luck, Lee and yeah, sunglasses can be one of the best investments a

person can make! O yeah, You get less wrinkles round your eyes from

squinting in the sun too...which is also nice. ;)
