I assume you mean " ice cream sundae " without the ice cream, Pat...yes,

ricotta sweetened with some DaVinci syrup and a few berries is a Very Nice

lowcarb dessert. I tried mixing some plain yogurt with it a few times but

that made my BGs go up ..so I stopped adding the yogurt. I guess some people

can eat the plain yogurt with no problem but I'm not one of them sigh. Vicki

Well....I get them at my local lowcarb store (luckily within walking distance

of my house!) but I've seen them in online lowcarb stores...try Carbsmart,

though there are many others. I think Rick Mendosa may have them as a link on

his website (but maybe not)...or you could do a Google search for lowcarb

stores...or maybe someone on this list could give a few URLs. Vicki

Hi, Art...good to hear from you again. It's been so long since you posted

that I thought maybe you'd dropped off the list. How're you doing? Vicki

Lucky that it doesn't raise your BGs...because Cool Whip does have carbs -

and sugar. And the 2% milk has more carbs than real cream...so I'd suggest

just forgetting those two items and using real cream for an even lower carb

yummy drink. Vicki

pssssst, vicki. shhhhhh. i'm trying to convince myself it's ice cream.

lol yep, gonna try tonite. just got my treadmill installed, and i love

it. i'm gonna plug in the books on tape, and kill two birds with one stone.

but now, since we just got thru, and all i've had is breakfast (and forgot

to take any meds this morning), i need to test and eat.

AND THEN WALK AND GET RID OF THIS WEIGHT. yippppppppppppppeeeee. pat

ut, oh, i think i may have found something wonderful here. i love the

drinks at Starbucks and coffee houses, but i don't get them any more, because

i know they are loaded with sugar. this sounds like something i could

handle. i know i have a recipe for " fontana " syrup, and had no clue what

it was. and didn't know they carried davinci, and was buying it and having

it shipped in. yippppppeeeeee. life is good. pat

OK, so where do you get the DaVinci syrups? I have a friend that does Atkins

and she swears by them, so maybe I should give them a try.

I buy mine at Starbuck's. Caribou Coffee also carries a brand called

Fontana which comes in Vanilla and Caramel.

Both brands are delicious (I think I've used all the available flavors,

including chocolate. I use about one bottle a week. . .

Make myself a delicious, good looking iced drink with strong coffee or

espresso over ice with a tsp of Splenda, a good dash of the flavored syrup,

a splash of 2% milk and top it off with cool whip or reddy whip. Looks and

tastes great and virtually NO carbs or sugars. I always do it an a large,

clear glass and I swear the appearance of it makes me drool:-)

I just put a splash of milk. . .cream would probably be better:-)

Cool whip has 2g of card and 1g of sugar per serving for a total of 4-5

carbs per large drink including the milk. . .virtually nothing:-)
