Guest guest
PH ~ Well, interesting question. there is a whole site dedicated to...... little white balls in my poop | PoopReport.com and here is this site...............it is about cats, but I think you will find it interesting..........you just did a parasite clense or kill, so... How to Rid Your Cat of Worms - Associated Content A few months ago I laid on my bed to find what appeared to be sesame seeds all over the sheets. Annoyed, I nagged at my boyfriend. "I told you not to eat in my bed!" After his swearing that he, in fact, did not eat in my bed we investigated into the sesame-seed issue. It turns out that certain types of worms on cats end up looking like sesame seeds when they die and dry up. Gross. I called the vet, only to be told that they charge at least $100 just to see the cat. That's not including medication. I declined their help and went to my local PetCo, where I bought roundworm medicine. This is a kind of liquid that is mixed with the cat's food. Unfortunately, this did nothing for my cat and I went through another week or two of frustration. I finally talked with a very friendly and knowledgeable veterinarian at PetCo. I walked in without an appointment and she gave me advice for free. Imagine that! It turned out that the cat had Tapeworms. I bought the pills for that and $20 later was basically worm-free.I had searched the internet extensively for information on cats worms but was left even more confused. Confusion turned to fear as I couldn't find answers to the simplest of questions. What kind of worms does my cat have? Can people get worms from cats? How severe is this problem? So I decided to share my newly-acquired knowledge with the readers of Associated Content and hopefully save some of you the agony that I went through. First of all, how can you tell what kind of worms the cat has? There are two common kinds of worms that cats get: tapeworms and roundworms. Tapeworms are flat and ribbon-like. What you see in your cats' litterbox or around the cats' backend are not all individual tapeworms, they are segments of a long tapeworm that is inside your cat. These segments break off and look like small grains of rice. The segments can move on their own. When they dry up, they often look like sesame seeds. Roundworms are thick and white and can be up to four inches long. They are most often found in the feces or vomit of the cat. They often look like spaghetti. Rarely, cats can get hookworms. Hookworms live in hot, humid areas and are mostly seen in Australia and the warmest parts of America. Heartworm is another rare, but serious, issue among cats. If your cat has heartworms, you will not come across any worms in the feces of the cat or outside of the cat. Heartworms stay inside of the cat, generally in the heart. How serious is the worm problem? Worms are intestinal parasites that live off of the food your cat eats. Cats with severe cases will lose weight and sometimes develop a bulge in their stomach. As disturbing as this sounds, worms are not usually a huge concern unless the cat goes untreated for a long period of time.See what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
Can people get worms from cats?Human infections from these worms are extremely rare and do not generally come from contact with an infected cat. When human infections do occur, it is because humans have touched contaminated dirt and then touched their mouths, ingesting the dirt. Also, human infections occur from accidental ingestion of a contaminated mosquito. If your cat does get worms, be careful abotu young children playing in the same outdoor environment and touching their hands to their nose, mouth, and eyes. Also, throw away all of the litter inside the cat's litter pan immediately after treating the cat and several days after, to avoid reinfection from the cat's fecesSee what's new at AOL.com and Make AOL Your Homepage. Guest guest
PH, That's completely normal. Remember a coffee enema is like a mild liver flush. The coffee expands the bile ducts and allows for greater removal of toxins. Pattyperfecthealth68 <perfecthealth68@...> wrote: OK, Patty, this is really gross but I need to know. When I do coffee enemas, LOTS of little beige things like sesame seeds come out..all I'm eating is chicken and vegetables. Is this normal for everyone? Never examined my poop to this degree when I was well...LOL! They're not as big as the stones from the liver flush but are the same color. I don't know if they're parasites or just food...regardless, glad they're out of me! - PH Check out the hottest 2008 models today at Autos. Guest guest
A website dedicated to poop!!??!! Dede you always find info like no one else!! That was really interesting about the " sesame seeds " being dried up worms. I don't have a cat but could have picked this up anywhere, if that's what it is. Interestingly, I've always been able to eat twice what my 6'4 " husband does and not gain an ounce...could be worms eating my food...disgusting!! No wonder I'm so fatigued. These things have to go. - PH > > PH ~ > Well, interesting question. there is a whole site dedicated to...... > _little white balls in my poop | PoopReport.com_ > (http://www.poopreport.com/Doctor/Knowledgebase/whiteballs.html) > and here is this site...............it is about cats, but I think you will > find it interesting..........you just did a parasite clense or kill, so... > _How to Rid Your Cat of Worms - Associated Content_ > (http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/50503/how_to_rid_your_cat_of _worms.html) > A few months ago I laid on my bed to find what appeared to be sesame seeds > all over the sheets.
