That's simple...buy a food scale, smile.

The one I have is a Terrillion...it's round, about eight inches in diameter

with a round platform...uses batteries...measures in pounds and ounces but

also in grams which is Very Handy. I weigh out everything when I eat at home

Much more exact than approximating a portion by palm size, smile. Then it's

easy to weigh out portions and be consistent. When you check USDA or Netzer -

or even packaged foods - it gives counts in terms of a certain portion size

and if you weigh everything out you can be quite precise.Vicki

Theres been a lot of recent publicity that points out that a lowfat diet

doesn't really help people lose weight. Apparently your dietitian didn't read

it. Lowfat milk has more carbs than cream too. Oh, well, do it her way but

be sure to test a lot and keep good notes. Then you'll know for sure.I'm

pretty pessimistic that she'll help you achieve your goal.

Did you have a chance to read those AOL comparisons of the various lowcarb

diets that were online Sunday before they disappeared? Vicki

i guess what i meant is that i don't know which proportions to eat. the

nutritionist said to split my plate in quarters, and have 1/4 meat, 1/4

starch and the other half vegies. so what exchange is that? any way, i

will call to make appt. tomorrow, and see what happens. pat

i didn't read the whole thing, but it sounded like Dr. Atkins was a good one.

i bookmarked them (did the same with the cars) and they seem to work after

a long time. pat
