Guest guest
Hi All! It just amazes me how differently club foot is treated, even by people who were trained by Dr. Ponseti. I guess since things are going so well, we don't feel the need to question any of the deviations. Just had a great checkup. Zoe turned 8 months old yesterday and has been in the FAB since 12 weeks. Her right foot is a clubfoot. Today we were told that she can be out of the FAB for 3-4 hours in the morning and 3-4 hours in the afternoon. Her doctor also wants us to do some " tickling " exercises so she will flex her foot muscles. Since she's only awake about 10 hours a day, we're almost FAB free for the whole day! Now we'll have to readjust our routine... There were 5 babies less than eight weeks old with bilateral clubfoot being seen today at Childrens in DC. It's the most I've ever seen there at one time. One of the babies was already in the FAB! One of the nurses commented that it was a " clubfoot morning " . Have a great week.
