Guest guest
That's Great! -Amie From: Kerry Seymour Sent: Sunday, December 12, 2004 6:50 AMTo: South-Beach-Diet-Getting-It-Right Subject: week one weigh in I've lost 5.5 lbs my first week! I'm starting the treadmill tomorrow, slowly of course. I know it is said not to exercise the first two weeks, but I feel good, not lightheaded or anything. I'm very excited! I can eat and lose weight! I did have a craving for chips/cheese and a beer, but I can make it another week without giving in. A week ago when I began I had my dh take 3 photos of me in an old swimsuit, front, side and back. Yesterday I finally viewed them and OMG, there is no way I'm having chips/cheese and a beer! I also took my measurements this morning and that 5.5 lbs came off my hips, no place else showed any difference at all. This list has helped so much, Thanks Tink for having a place for us! Kerry 163.5/158/no goal yet Half-hearted effort will get you absolutely nowhere in life—you must have a zest, a love, a passion for what is important to you!Reminder: The South Beach Diet is not low-carb. Guest guest
Congratulations Kerry! That's wonderful! The more I read about the diet the more convinced I become this is actually doable and it *will* work! Years ago I bought a book called " The Glucose Revolution " . It talked in great detail about the glycemic index. I reread it again a few months ago. I guess I keep coming back to this sort of thing because the idea of losing weight by eating foods low on the glycemic index just seems to have a ring of truth to it for me. The South Beach Diet seems to follow this same idea about low glycemic index foods and I guess that's why I have faith it is safe, medically sound, and will actually work, for a lifetime. You go girl! Debbie > I've lost 5.5 lbs my first week! I'm starting the treadmill tomorrow, slowly of course. Guest guest
Congratulations, ! That's terrific! Hearing you and Kerry say you're losing 5-6 pounds the first week is very encouraging to someone like me who is just now trying to start SB. Thanks for sharing! Debbie > This morning I finished my first week on Phase I, and I'm happy to report I lost 6 lbs.! I'm so happy I could dance around the room. I wasn't exercising the way I should have been, so this week I am going to do at last 1/2 mile of walking every morning and see how it goes. > > I can't believe how easy eating this way is. I thought I would be craving carbs like crazy, but I'm not. I can't wait to start trying some of the recipes. > > My goal was to lose at least 10 lbs. by New Year's Eve, and at this pace, it looks like I'll make it. > >
