Guest guest
Hi Ron, Thanks a lot for the information. That was interesting ! I have been on cystic-l a year ago but couldn't manage the MANY messages ... especially because I am receiving the messages at work. BUT we are planning to buy another computer at home (now, my husband is always working on the one we have) and then I will join cystil-l again ... so I will see you there ! If you want to correspond through a more internationally representative email list including a larger proportion of people with CF in addition to parents, you are also welcome at Cystic-L which is available for free as follows: Send the following line in the *body* of an email (the " Subject " line is ignored) to LISTSERV@... SUBSCRIBE CYSTIC-L Your-first-name Your-last-name There are many more people on there than on cfparents. Still too many? Here are some ways to manage your Cystic-L mail: ---->>> Getting Too Much Mail? <<<---- Here are some tools for managing your CYSTIC-L mail: 1. DIGEST Sometimes simply getting a few big messages a day, instead of individual messages as they are posted, allows sufficiently quick scanning to solve the problem. To set your subscription to DIGEST send the following command in the body of an email message to LISTSERV@... SET CYSTIC-L DIGEST 2. INDEX Another alternative is to receive a daily list (or " index " ) of the Subjects of the messages posted to CYSTIC-L, but not the messages themselves. To set your subscription to INDEX send the following command in the body of an email message to LISTSERV@... SET CYSTIC-L INDEX To retrieve the message(s) that interest you, just reply and print out the numbers of the messages you want (the reply should go to CYSTIC-L-SEARCH-REQUEST@...). ---->>> Going Away? <<<---- You should tell ListServ to stop your mail if you are not going to be able to read it for a while; otherwise your mail account may become full and bounce messages (and therefore your CYSTIC-L subscription may be set to NOMAIL). Send the following command to LISTSERV@... SET CYSTIC-L NOMAIL To turn your mail back on, send the following command to LISTSERV@... SET CYSTIC-L MAIL Hope this helps!!!! -- Check out the CYSTIC-L Homepage at http://www.Cystic-L.org ________________________________________________________________________ Ron Trueworthy . . . . .
